HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
I made it to bed at 3 am last night, as we were planning to go to the zoo with a friend this morning, but it was way too cold, so we postponed our visit.
And so it was a typical day in the Wilson household. We got up at 8, fed them, cleaned and dressed them, and then they went downstairs to play, while I went back to bed. I hit the snooze button, when my alarm went off, because I was so tired, but finally got up just before Sonja arrived at 11:30, and went straight to work in the kitchen. I had put a chicken in the oven after breakfast, and still had to make rice with vegetables. Randy came upstairs with the kids as I was putting the food on the plates, and the little ones were sure hungry, coming to me for food, while I tried to finish as quickly as possible. They really like rice and chicken and ate everything on their plates - followed by banana, watermelon and yoghurt.
I put Emmy to bed, and by the time I put Tammy to bed, Emmy was already asleep. Sonja finished her food, and by then Sammy was ready as well, and they went downstairs together to play. I cleaned up and lay back down, and slept a little more. Emmy woke up after half an hour, but Randy got him to fall back asleep. I got up when they woke up for good, and I got them out of their beds. Sammy was already tired, and even though it was only 2:15, we all sat down for the afternoon meal.
They don't care much for the cereal with fruit jars that are not 10's any more. I had to add snacks and cereal bars and fresh fruit to the meal. Then Sonja went downstairs with Emmy and Tammy to play, and Sammy went to bed. Hopefully Sammy can also go to one nap a day soon, so they all sleep at the same time. Randy and I stayed upstairs. I was cleaning up once again.
Sammy woke up just before 4 pm. All day long Tammy had been bringing me her coat, so it was time to take them outside. We dressed them and left to go to the nearby playground that we adults had not been to yet ourselves. We also walked on further, as our neighbor had told us about another one there. They are both so much closer than the big one we had been going to. Much more convenient!
And they had fun, even though it was cold. There is a little house that Tammy went to right away, and Randy had Sammy look through the window inside. Then there was a slide that they went down on a few times. There was also a 4-year-old girl that was probably the most interesting to them, but she wasn't interested in them. Then there was a soccer ball that Emmy enjoyed. And Sammy liked the bouncy chicken. They also went on a carousel and a big swing they could all sit on. Their hands were pretty cold, but they didn't seem to mind. Just before 5 pm I left with Sammy, while the others took their time to return home. Once home, I gave Sammy a chance to discover the upstairs, as he's never been on the floor there, and he really enjoyed it. I was getting their food ready at the same time, and when the others returned, I just about had some food to give them, while still needing to cut up all the fruit. They were running around and found a broom. Tammy started joyfully sweeping the floor - until Emmy wanted to have the broom as well, and they started fighting over it. So Randy gave Emmy the other broom, and then they were both happy and sweeping the floor.
Tonight they sure seemed to have more appetite and had no problem eating everything. It was the first time Sammy had eaten EVERYTHING on his plate before going into the bathtub. I had nothing to feed him there!
Sammy came out first, but Tammy right after him as she was pretty tired. Thankfully there is room for two on the changing table. When I left to put Sammy to bed, Sonja got Emmy out of the bathtub as well. So when I returned, I took a picture and a little video, though the most fun happened before I started the video of course.
Sammy started crying at one point, but I helped him back into his sleeping position and returned his pacifier to him. Emmy was already asleep. Tammy was still fussing, but I was able to walk away, and she fell asleep soon thereafter.
I turned my computer on and started working, as I wasn't working yet, and we had a zoom meeting with a pastor. Once that was done, I got my food, ate, and then went to work again. Later, when I needed a break, plus there was some crying, I went upstairs, gave Emmy and Tammy milk, and did all the cleanup. The past two nights Tammy had slept through the night without milk, which is promising. Sammy slept through the night last night, and has not needed any milk yet tonight. Emmy is the lightest sleeper and the loudest in demanding milk. I won't buy any more milk, but we still have quite a bit to use up, and they only drink it at night now.
Tomorrow morning I won't be able to sleep, as Sammy has physiotherapy, and unfortunately Caritas helper Christine is still sick. Bad timing! No help tomorrow!
