HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Last night I was so very tired, and knowing I had to get up and stay up this morning, I went to bed at midnight, though it takes me some time to fall asleep. This morning we got up as usual just after 8 am, fed them, then dressed them with clothes to leave the house with. We got ourselves and everything ready and left the house at around 9:40 to go to the zoo.
We had two subways to take, plus a walk, and it did take us until after 10:30 to get there. It was colder again, especially with the wind, and the guy at the entrance said we were lucky because that meant we didn't have to wait in line but could go in right away. (Only a certain amount of people is allowed inside the zoo because of Corona, and all free slots had already been reserved online.)
My brother and his family arrived a few minutes later. First we went to the giraffes that we barely got to see as they kept leaving when we were coming. A lof of ínside places were closed because of Corona, while you had to stand in line for others, as they restricted the number of people inside.
Next we went to a certain kind of monkey. They were cute, and our kids excited. I put Sammy on his feet as well to look inside. For Sammy it was already past his nap time, and he was really tired. After that, he stayed in the stroller most of the time because of that, and finally fell asleep as we left the zoo. Emmy was pretty tired too and really quiet because of it. It wasn't like him at all to be so motionless and not talking. At the end he suddenly started waking up and getting more lively, but he also fell asleep when we put him into the stroller in the end, and he slept nearly all the way home.
Tammy was the most excited of all. She was laughing and smiling and simply having fun, and only fell asleep just before we arrived back home, and then slept in the stroller and her coat in our apartment for quite some time.
After the first monkeys we saw elephants, then penguins, sea lions and icebears. Then we saw leopards and tigers. The tiger even roared for us. We couldn't see any lions. We also saw zebras, and waited in line to see orang-utans and other monkeys. The orang-utan walked right up to the glass, so the kids got to see it closeup.
I carried Tammy on my shoulders for much of the time, as she was simply too heavy to carry on my arm for long. Emmy did a lot of walking together with his uncle and family. Their hands were pretty cold, but they didn't seem to notice. They also enjoyed running around a little.
We all left together, and while we could have gone on talking, not having seen each other for half a year, we really all needed to go home. It was already nearly 1:30 pm, when we left there. We got on the subway, which woke up Sammy, who hadn't slept long, then another one, and arrived home just after 2 pm. Sonja arrived 5 minutes later.
We took all the clothes off the boys, and while Randy started cooking omelets, Sonja and I tried to feed the boys. Neither one wanted to eat. They had eaten lots of snacks all morning long. I had Sammy in his special chair for the first time to feed him, moving it to a higher position.
Then I put both boys to bed. Sammy fell asleep, but Emmy didn't. He was just talking, and I finally got him back out, and Sonja went downstairs with him to play. When Tammy woke up, I fed her, and she also went downstairs to play. Shortly after Sammy woke up as well, and we all ended up being downstairs and playing together. I was really tired and hurting all over from carrying the babies for kilometers on end.
I left them before 5 pm to get their food ready. I hadn't had a chance to do any cleanup all day long. I could hear that Emmy was very cranky because he was so tired. At 5:30 we fed them, then they went into the bathtub, and then to bed. Emmy fell asleep right away, Tammy needed a little time, and Sammy was the one crying again. Randy held him twice as I was occupied, and then I held him a third time before he finally fell asleep.
Today was our wedding anniversary. 6 years of marriage. Randy surprised me with flowers and chocolate in the morning, also bought a cake, and I gave him a pair of socks with our names and wedding picture on it. After the babies were asleep, we each did our chores while waiting for the ordered food to arrive, and I was glad to get all the cleanup done. Once the food arrived, we sat down to eat it while watching a good movie. It was a nice evening. Then we each continued with our chores. I have more to do, but I'm so tired that I will go to bed shortly. It's 1 am now.
