HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
It was a tough afternoon today, being overwhelmed with different issues and challenges from different sides all at the same time. One of them being that someone we spent time with very recently just tested positive for Corona. That means we now need to get tested tomorrow morning, so Sammy can go to physiotherapy tomorrow, and all three of them to the pediatrician on Wednesday. No sleep for me tomorrow morning.
After 4 hours of sleep I got up at 8 this morning, as usual, to feed them breakfast. They had already finished, when Christine arrived at 8:30 am. She took them downstairs, while I was holding Sammy, until he was ready. He had just taken him, when the Mobile Support lady arrived at 9 am.
I went back to bed, while the lady played with Sammy (and the other two) for the next 90 minutes. Christine was cooking lunch, and at 10 am she went outside with Tammy and Emmy. She was gonna head to the park, but Tammy was running down a path in a different direction, so she followed her, and ended up finding a playground much closer to us. They had so much fun exlploring all the toys there, which is visible on the videos she took.
At 11:30 they had lunch, and then Tammy and Emmy went to bed. Sammy had already had his morning nap. As for my sleep, it was a little rough this morning for some reason. I finally got up, when I heard Tammy crying. Emmy had just gotten up. What a blessing, when I don't have to cook lunch or feed them lunch!
I got Tammy, and my lunch, and we went downstairs. Emmy was in the swing already, and still being tired, he looked very relaxed and laid back. But his sister wanted to join him, so he had to make some space for her.
At 2:30 Christine had to leave, and we went upstairs to feed them their afternoon meal. Then Sammy went to bed, and the others wen downstairs to play. Tammy loves reading books, and sometimes wants me to read a book to her over and over again, as well as bringing one book after another. And of course they still want to be in the new swing a lot. Sammy always needs a little longer to eat, and recently he's just not very motivated to eat. Randy has quite a challenge on his hand. It took a while before he put him to bed, and then he was crying. As I've been holding him a lot at night recently to help him sleep and know what he likes, I went upstairs, picked him up, and he immediately quieted down and fell asleep ony my chest fast. I enjoy having that cuddle time with Sammy now, as I could never get him to sleep on me when he was younger. He's just doing some catching up, his siblings having a headstart.
Another challenge has been finding a physiotherapy spot for him, as the university hospital has asked us to, with new babies needing his spot there. There's not enough capacity, so nobody is taking new patients. My Mom found us a private one until a spot opens up, and we'll go there once to check it out and see how Sammy likes it.
At 5 pm I went upstairs to make their dinner, and half an hour later we fed them, then put them in the bathtub, and then to bed. Sammy fell asleep right away without needing to be held, Emmy too, and Tammy needed me to stay a little bit. Randy left in a rush to make it to the supermarket before it closes at 7 pm. It looks like they're not going back to being open until 8 pm, which was so much easier for us.
And the rest of the evening was spent with cooking, eating, and sorting out some of the challenges I was facing, and it all seems to be working out in the end. It's time for office work now, though I should go to bed earlier tonight.
