HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Not much to say about today, and it's already 2:30 am. We were going to go to church tonight, but Randy has not been feeling well and coughing, and all three babies (still) have runny noses, so we stayed home. It would have been stressful to go, as it was 3 pm, and I had not prepared their clothes or their dinner-to-go and we would have had to leave at 4 pm. And the boys had a single nap again today, lying down after lunch just after 12. It worked the day before yesterday, but not yesterday, so today was only the second time. It was nice for them to sleep at the same time, though Emmy woke up after 45 minutes and cried. I made the mistake to pick him up, couldn't rock him back to sleep, and took him downstairs, only to take him back upstairs and put him back to bed, where he fell asleep again. Sammy had woken up in the process and also went back to sleep. I made the same mistake again at night, when Emmy suddenly started screaming in his bed. I picked him up, tried to give him a pacifier, tried to give him milk, but he just fought me and screamed, and there was nothing I could do. After a while I just put him back to bed, he put his pacifier into his mouth, and got quiet. I had just read about this, that babies can do this, and should have known. In any case, since they only had one nap, and only for the second time, they probably would have been very tired and cranky at church.
As it was such a success, we did another movie & ordering-in night tonight, though less fancy than last week, when it was Valentine's Day. We ordered pizza (it was good), and watched a movie that was rather boring, but it was still nice to do this and break up the daily routine. It did mean that everything was done later tonight, but that's okay.
Them sleeping all after lunch means more time with them in the afternoon. I had about 2 hours to play with them, from 3 to 5 pm, which was fun. I love making them laugh, by chasing them, catching them, and throwing them around. We had a great time, and while I considered getting up and trying to do some office work at some point, I decided to do that at night when they sleep, and rather spend some quality time with them in the afternoon. I'm glad I chose right.
Randy took Sammy's chair upstairs today, as he often does not know where to put Sammy upstairs. Once we get the tray for it, he could eat in that chair. Sammy did lots of crawling again today, and I see him pull his knees up under his body more and more. I even caught it on video.
Tammy often repeats words perfectly. She's repeated "diaper" repeatedly, and I've heard her say "Daddy" several times, without even repeating. Emmy says "Mama" the most, and sometimes Sammy says it too. They do understand a lot, sometimes amazingly so.
