Last night it was 3:30 again, before I made it to bed, even though I had thought about taking the kids outside with the sleds after breakfast. They woke up at 8 am, as usual, but I was way too tired to do that. I went back to bed after feeding them breakfast.

Today we were using up baby food jars for lunch. I heard the alarm, but fell back asleep, so it was already noon before I turned the warmer on, and we only fed them just before 12:30, instead of noon. Then I put Tammy to bed, and went downstairs with the boys, while Randy made omelets for us. At 1:30 pm Caritas helper Christine arrived half an hour earlier than expected and joined us downstairs. Two packages had also arrived, and Emmy loves packages and played with the boxes. Sammy does really well with Christine and had fun with her, as did Emmy. We often put Sammy to bed at 1:30 pm, but he did not seem tired today, so we didn't. Emmy was getting cranky, but he does not sleep if you put him down too early, so he kept going. I fed Emmy his afternoon meal at 2:15 downstairs, while Randy fed Sammy upstairs. Then the boys went to bed for their naps. However, Tammy woke up because of Sammy's crying, and Emmy just would not fall asleep for the longest time.

I took Tammy downstairs and fed her her afternoon meal. And then it was time to FINALLY take her outside and go sledding for the very first time in her life. I had been waiting for snow, and though it wasn't much, there was some right outside our apartment. I dressed her warm, as it was -6 C/21 F outside (but felt colder because of the wind), and off we went, right through our downstairs door. We had a little incline there, and so I strapped her in, and started pulling her up the incline, and then letting her go down the hill. At first I was cautious, as you can see in the uploaded video, but she enjoyed it so much, and it was going so well, that I let her go down as fast as possible (which wasn't much, as it was short and not steep). I then pulled her on the tarp on the horizontal, which she enjoyed too, especially when I ran. Finally I put her on the tricycle and pushed her, and then put her on the car, but she didn't want to make it move herself. It was quite a workout for me!

I was glad to go back inside with her. But there were only a few minutes left until 4 pm, which is when I had to wake up the boys. Randy told me that Emmy had only just fallen asleep not long before, so I gave them an extra 5 minutes. He was fast asleep and did not hear me pick up Sammy, who had just woken up by himself.

I took them downstairs and we started dressing all three of them to take them outside with the sleds. Quite an undertaking! At first we stayed outside our apartment door. I pulled Sammy along the tarp, and Christine Tammy up and down the hill. Emmy, however, did not like the sled at all. Maybe it's because he just woke up, or because he tends to me more fearful, or both. Then Randy suggested we walk to the nearby park, and so we did. I pushed Emmy on the tricycle, while Randy carried Sammy and the sleds (thankfully they stack). It was really close. Emmy did not like going up and down the hill with the tricycle.

Once inside the park, there was a little hill. I tried to put Emmy on the sled again, but he still didn't want to go on it, and so he went back on the tricycle. Christine pulled Tammy up and down the hill, and she had lots of fun. Unfortunately there wasn't much snow, so the sled wasn't sliding by itself. Randy pulled Sammy in circles on the flat surface, but he didn't seem to enjoy it very much. Emmy was the only one who did not have gloves (neither did I), and I felt for him, as it was really cold. Finally Randy took his gloves off to give to him, and he looked hilarious wearing Daddy's big gloves. Because of the cold we did not stay long before going back home.

Returning home, it was already time to go make their dinner, so I went upstairs, while Randy and Christine played with the little ones. She had to leave at 5:30, which is also when everyone came upstairs to eat.

I fed Tammy and Emmy, who ate pretty well, before going to the bathtub, where they ate the rest of their food, as did Sammy. Then we put them to bed. Since Emmy had slept so little, I thought he'd be asleep fast, but that was not the case. He seemed wide awake, standing up, and it took a while before he slept. As for Tammy, I had to come back and sit down next to her as usual. And Sammy was also crying, but did not want milk. I gave him dental cream, and then he was okay and fell asleep.

And then it was time to eat, clean up and do office work, as usual.
