HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Last night I did what I said and went to bed at 2:30, thank God. The little ones woke up at their regular time of 8 am - or we did, not knowing how long they had already been awake. I made their food, while Randy changed them, and we sat down to feed them. I always have to bring out the fruit, and a cookie at the end; Tammy doesn't care for it, but Emmy does.
Randy took them downstairs with his breakfast, after I had cleaned and dressed them, then I went back to bed.
My alarm woke me up at 11:25, and as hard as it was, I got up and got to work in the kitchen. It didn't take long before I heard the boys, and once they were getting restless, I went to get them out of bed and took them downstairs to Randy and the girl.
They all came back up at noon for lunch. I had leftovers for Randy, and had cooked pasta with eggs for the little ones. They enjoyed it, but made a BIG mess. Tammy likes moving her hand or spoon really fast all over the plate, sending her food flying. Both of them like using their spoons by themselves, and so I often guide their hand so food actually makes it into their mouths and then applaud them. They really enjoy that.
After they were done - including with their yoghurt and fruit - I got them out, cleaned them up, and put them on the ground. Then I got out the hand vaccuum cleaner to get rid of all the pasta on the floor. Well, as expected, both Tammy and Emmy started crying, being afraid of the vaccuum cleaner. I just kept going, and once I stopped, they stopped crying too. I had to do that before putting the girl down for a nap, which is right next to the dining room table.
Randy was busy getting ready to leave with Sammy for physiotherapy. I gave him snacks for Sammy to take with him, and swim trunks, as his physiotherapy session was in the pool today, for the second time ever. Unfortunately it was at a time, when he usually sleeps, and so it was "a disaster", according to Randy, as Sammy was just crying the whole time, and she couldn't really do anything. Next time his appointment is in the morning, when he is the fittest.
Randy left, and I put Tammy to bed. Being alone meant that I could not clean up or do the dishes, as I had Emmy and that would have kept the girl awake. So I left it all and went downstairs with Emmy, where it was just the two of us. And we had fun together.
Normally the girl sleeps for 2 hours, but today it was only 45 minutes, so only until 1:45. I use an Echo device to play ocean sounds so they have some sleep noise and don't get bothered by other noise. However, the internet wasn't working at that time today, and so it was completely silent. I guess that's why she woke up, as nothing was keeping her from hearing us. I was hoping she'd fall back asleep, but she didn't. So Emmy and I went upstairs. Now Emmy was already very tired, and I decided to take a chance and put him to bed, since the girl was awake. So he stayed upstairs, and Tammy went downstairs with me. Thankfully the internet was back by then.
So then it was Tammy and me only. She got to go round and round on the office chair, which she likes doing, and then to swing on the baby swing. While we were doing that, Christine arrived, a little after 2 pm. Thank God!. Emmy wasn't sleeping, which is usually the case when he goes to bed this early, so I got him back out and took him downstairs to Christine and Tammy. Then I finally got to clean up the kitchen and dining room. Just after 2:30, they all came upstairs as well for their afternoon meal. Then I put Emmy down for his nap, and this time he slept, while Christine was downstairs playing with Tammy. I continued doing housework upstairs, and finally finished it all. I lay down in bed for a few minutes, when Randy arrived with Sammy, who he then also put down for a nap. However, Sammy had less than half an hour left until 4 pm by that point.
I gave them a few extra minutes before waking them up at just after 4. Usually Emmy wakes up as soon as I walk in, but not today. I had to wake both boys up, but it was necessary, so they would still sleep at bedtime. I took them downstairs, where I then stayed with them all and Christine, and we had fun playing. Sammy did pretty well leaning against the donkey and sitting on his knees, and he had fun with Christine. Tammy and Emmy were running around, playing with each other, and we had fun, when I'd make them run away from me squealing.
Just before 5 pm I left them and went upstairs to make dinner. Since Tammy hadn't slept but 45 minutes, she was getting really tired, and so they all came upstairs before I was done getting it all ready. So Christine sat down with the two of them, while I still grated the apple and pear. Once I was done and brought them to the table, I sat down to feed Emmy. They did pretty well, until they didn't, and so I took them to the bathtub, including the remaining food. Christine had to leave, and so I fed them all three of them in the bathtub, and they finished their fruit, and then drank the leftover cereal with milk from the morning. Then they went to bed. Sammy was crying immediately today, earlier than usual. It's been tough with him the last few nights, and neither milk nor dental cream helps. Thankfully we didn't have to get him back out of bed again tonight; after crying for a while he fell asleep. He must have been really tired. I figured Tammy would fall asleep fast, but she cried until I returned and sat down by her bed, and then she finally fell asleep.
Then I got to eat and get to work. I did some office work first, then did the house work, and then returned to office work. I'm hoping to get to bed at the same time as yesterday. By the way, tomorrow is Randy's 65th birthday, so wish him happy birthday, if you get a chance! (By the way, I myself am a lot younger than him! 😁)
