17 months

I went to bed around 3:30, and the little ones always wake up around 8 am. I got up to make their breakfast, and we started feeding them. After a few minutes, Caritas helper Christine arrived, and she took over feeding Emmy and Tammy, while I got everything ready and went back to bed.

After breakfast, Christine dressed them with the clothes I had put out, and then she put them in the stroller to take them to the playground, which is a 15-minute walk away. They had lots of fun. Before they could even leave the house, the Mobile Therapy Support lady arrived at 9 am to work with Sammy. This time he had her all to himself, and Randy said that she was impressed with how much he crawled around. It was a much better time for him, BEFORE lying down for a nap.

Christine returned with the other two at 11 am. Today they had baby food jars for lunch so we use them up, and Randy and I ate something quick from the freezer. Our walls are thin, so I woke up when they started eating. It was sure nice to be able to get some rest for a change, instead of having to get up and take care of everything. I finally made myself get up, and found that they had just finished eating. So I plated our own food, and we all went downstairs, where we ate our food, while the boys were playing. Tammy had gone to bed for her only nap of the day and fell asleep fast.

Christine had taken the tricycle out and pushed Tammy around in circles, and she made the mistake of not putting it away again. As soon as Emmy saw it, he wanted me to push him in circles, and so I did for a while. As for Sammy, I put him on the car as he had enjoyed that the other day.

After one hour Tammy already woke up, way too early, probably because of Emmy crying so hard. The boys were really tired, so we decided to put them to bed. It was 1:45 pm. I picked up crying Tammy and lay down with her, but after a few minutes she was up and she was not gonna go back to sleep, so I went downstairs with her.

So it was her and me at first, and then Christine joined us. I decided it was time to turn around the shelves, as we had not done so since returning from Mali. That way half the toys disappear, while the other half reappears and is interesting again. Tammy went straight for the books and enjoyed pulling them out. Then she started running around, and she seemed to have lots of fun being the only child for a while. We got some blocks out, but she is not as interested or skilled as her brother in putting them on the poles.

At 2:30 Christine had to leave. The boys woke up not long, and at 3 pm we went upstairs to eat, before all going back downstairs to play.

And we had lots of fun again, with lots of laughter, and Sammy was doing lots of crawling. At 5 pm I went upstairs to get their dinner ready, and half an hour later we sat down to eat. Then it was bathtime and then bedtime. Emmy fell asleep fast, but Sammy needed milk to sleep, and Tammy was restless. She got the milk Sammy had left over, but I had to stay with her, though I tried a few times to walk away, before she finally fell asleep.

And then, as always, dinner for us, house work and office work. Every day is pretty much the same, and I'm getting a little tired of the lockdown, of no swim class for them, no dance class, and the petting zoos and all other fun activities are all closed too.

Today Tammy weighed 9.8 kilos (-500 grams), Emmy 8.8 (-600) and Sammy 7.7 (-400). Last time the numbers seemed extremely high, today they were more realistic. Tammy gained 200 grams in 2 weeks, Emmy 100 and Sammy 500.
