HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
This morning started differently, as my alarm woke us up at 6:25 am, after I had slept about 3 hours. The babies started taking antibiotics yesterday afternoon, and they have to take them every 8 hours, which was at 6:30 this morning - their third dose. So I was holding the babies, against their will, while Randy squirted the medicine into their mouths with a syringe. Then they got some milk and went back to bed, and so did we. I don't know what time they got up for good, as that is Randy's time to take care of them, while I sleep. They eat breakfast at 9 am, and then Sammy lies down for his nap, while the other two lie down about an hour later, after Sammy is up.
And they all had the best day they've had in a while! They all seemed to be back to their normal, happy, playful selves! And their diarrhea has improved visibly. They were wearing cloth diapers again today. While we brought a lot of diapers with us, we were counting on only using them at night, and using the cloth ones during the day. Because of the diarrhea, we used paper ones we bought locally for a while, but they were leaking pretty bad. We had to change their clothes, my clothes, and their sheet quite a few times, sometimes per day. We have just the right amount of good ones left for the last two nights and the trip back to Vienna.
When Randy woke me up to hand me Tammy for her morning nap at 10:30, it was obvious that she was herself again, as she cried and struggled to not fall asleep, before FINALLY giving in and falling asleep. By the time she falls asleep, Emmy is about done sleeping. Then he gets up, looks over the railing of their bed at me, and wants me to get him out of there. He tries to get out by himself (as does Tammy) by putting his foot on the wood bar, but thankfully they are not able to do that yet. Before we return, that hole needs to be closed with wood.
At noon we feed them lunch. Tammy also had great appetite today, eating quite a bit, as if she was trying to catch up from the last few days. It was such a relief to see her happily sitting in her high chair and eating!
Then it was playtime. An hour later Sammy lay down for his nap, and another hour later the other two did. I tried and tried, but Tammy successfully resisted sleep in the afternoon, and when it was nearly 4 pm, I finally gave up. I took her to the living room where Sammy was with Randy and Barbara, and as I was really tired myself, I lay back down, and actually fell asleep. When I woke up, it was after 4 pm, and high time for Emmy to get up so he would sleep at bed time.
We were all in the living room until dinner time, having lots of fun. Barbara built a few towers, and Emmy enjoyed taking them back apart, while Tammy was putting balls inside. Sammy was also playing happily. We had lots of fun, but the most fun for them is to get out of the confined space and run around in the rest of the house, and both Tammy and Emmy got to do that for some time tonight, enjoying it greatly. They went to the kitchen, where Fanta was doing dishes, trying to open cabinets, and ran after the cats. One thing they enjoy a lot is do look outside the front door, and one time Barbara took them outside for a few minutes.
They have their afternoon meal at 2:30 pm, after Sammy is up, and before the other two lie down, and dinner at 5 pm. Again, Tammy was eating well. And then we all went into the bathtub. A few days ago our light stopped working, so it's a little dark inside, as the sun starts going down at that time, but we manage.
Then it was bed time, and while it took them some time to fall asleep, it wasn't too bad. Then I got to eat, and then go to work, trying to get everything done that needs to be done before we leave in 48 hours, and I'm well on track. Last night Randy took the Christmas tree down, and today our kids took down their Christmas decorations. It sure looks empty without them.
At 10:30 they get another dose of antibiotics, and Tammy was the first one to wake up just before that time. Obviously they did not enjoy waking up and having a syringe put into their mouths to force a medicine down their throat. They all got milk, and went back to sleep, except for Tammy, who'd only drink a few sips, and then cry because she was hungry. It took her quite some time, and quite a few sips, before she finally went back to sleep for good.
Barbara pointed out today that I was more joyful than usual. I responded that I'm glad the little ones are better. Thank you all so much for praying!
