HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Last night Sammy did not need any milk, going without food for 14 hours! But he was up at 8 am, a little earlier than usual, ready to eat. Normally he is the last one to get a fresh diaper and start eating, but today I started feeding him at the same time as Emmy, while Randy was giving Tammy a fresh diaper, and then Randy fed him before the diaper change. Not only did they eat cereal with milk and fruit, but I also cut up a banana and grated an apple for them to eat.
After cleaning them up and dressing them, Randy took them downstairs one after another and I went back to bed. It was already 9:30 and I needed sleep bad, having only slept 4.5 hours. Only an hour later Randy came with Tammy, even though she has not been sleeping in the morning and we agreed to put her down for her nap after lunch. I took her anyway, and tried for over half an hour to get her to sleep, while I could barely open my eyes because I was so tired. Then Randy finally took her downstairs, while the boys were still sleeping. Tired or not, it was after 11 and I had to start cooking lunch for the five of us.
So I did. I was nearly done with all my cutting, when the boys woke up. I picked up Emmy, and as the food was nearly ready, Randy came back upstairs with Tammy. A few minutes later we sat down to eat, chicken with rice and vegetables.
We had just started when my phone rang. It was IKEA. Six months ago they installed my kitchen, and to this day they had not finished it, while I contacted them repeatedly trying to get them to do. Well, today was the day! The guy on the phone asked if he could already come now instead of later. 15 minutes later two IKEA guys arrived to put the front on the dishwasher. The babies were curiously looking towards the kitchen, wondering what was going on. And we were not done eating yet, when the guys finished their work. Can you believe it? After 6 months the kitchen is finally finished!!! I didn't think it would ever happen any more. Now I still have one issue with them, unfortunately, as they won't let me pay a bill from September, and they STILL haven't fixed that problem.
The other pictures show Tammy and Emmy who were joyfully running around with their new toys - really sandbox toys that we use in the bathtub. And Emmy loves packages, pointing at them and saying package in his language all day long, and then sliding boxes all over the floor.
After lunch, Randy went downstairs with the boys, while I lay down with Tammy. Again, she was resisting sleep, resisting lying on me, and so I finally put her into her bed. Maybe it was time for her to learn to sleep in her own bed! I lay back down and heard her cry and cry and cry. There was no lying down to sleep. I finally had pity on her, got up, picked her up and lay back down with her, and this time she put her head down to sleep right away and was asleep quickly. We then both slept, which I needed bad, and so did she.
While we were sleeping, the afternoon nap time for the boys had also come, and so they were both asleep when we got up. I could have slept longer, but the girl was done. As it was about 3 pm and time for the afternoon meal, I fed her her cold cereal with fruit jar, while holding her in my arm. Right after getting up, they all want me to hold them, rather than put them down. Before I was done feeding her, the boys woke up, and I then held Emmy and fed him his jar, while Randy fed Sammy.
Then we all went downstairs to play. All three were enjoying their toys. Emmy likes sitting on the car and me pulling him in circles, Tammy likes the rocking horse. They also enjoy the singing books, and both Tammy and Emmy start dancing when there is music. I have actually registered them for a dance class, but as the government is talking about prolonging the lockdown, it might not start when it's supposed to. We also still have our swim class to finish, whenever the swimming pools open again. I would have registered Sammy for the dance class too, but there were only two available spots.
We all had fun for a while, but they were starting to get tired, and so I went upstairs to get dinner ready a little earlier than usual. Half an hour later they all came up to eat. Tammy and Emmy always climb up the stairs by themselves.
Tonight they didn't eat as well as they have been, at least Emmy and Tammy. Emmy threw a fit, and I never figured out why, so he left some food on his plate. Tammy was funny tonight, as she picked up food from her plate and put it on my hand for me to put into her mouth. Once they were clearly done eating, I put Emmy into the bathtub first, and then got Tammy to put in as well, before Randy brought Sammy. They didn't get to play long, as Randy still needed to go to the grocery store, and they close earlier because of the lockdown, which is now a challenge for us. Sammy came out of the water first, then Emmy, then Tammy, and as soon as I could handle them by myself, Randy left to get to the store before they close.
They were all in bed, but Tammy and Emmy were not happy. I finally gave them dental cream, and discovered that Tammy had a second molar that had broken through. Her first one was on the bottom right, and now one had come out on the left. And Emmy was crying because his first molar tooth had broken through, on the top left. No wonder they were crying. Sammy has some catching up to do, as his bottom corner teeth haven't come out yet. Emmy was so upset that I ended up picking him up and sitting down with him. He fell asleep on me, while Tammy was in her bed right next to my chair, and she stayed up, probably being jealous of her brother. I put Emmy back into his bed where he continued sleeping, and the girl still needed me to stay until she fell asleep.
In the meantime Randy had already returned. I decided to take a bath, which I hadn't done in a long time. It's the most relaxing thing for me to do, and I wished I'd do it more often, but usually I don't want to lose that much time. Tonight I just did it. I got so tired in the bathtub, that I put my phone away and closed my eyes. Randy then came and told me not to fall asleep, as he did not want to raise the kids by himself. Now, I don't think anyone has ever drowned falling asleep in the bathtub! You'd be awake pretty fast if you went under! What do you guys think?
I nearly fell asleep, and then got out as I still had plenty to do. I was thankful that Randy was cleaning the high chairs tonight, so I just had everything else to do. Now it's 1 am, so I have two more hours to get office work done.
