HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Last night I had just gone to bed after 3 am, after feeding the boys, when Tammy started crying. It had not been an hour since she had last had milk. I went to her to stroke her head, but every time I'd walk away, she started screaming. At one point I just lay down as I was so tired, only to get up a little later to try to stroke her head until she'd fall back asleep. She had also woken Emmy up, so I was stroking both their heads. I thought she had fallen asleep and went back to bed, but as soon as she notices that I'm gone, she screams. I decided I needed to stay away and let her fall asleep by herself, and after a while she did. It was 4 am, and I needed some sleep!
You can imagine how hard it is to get up at 8:50 after such a short night; it was really tough today. I made their food, went downstairs to get them, and fed them. Then I put them all to bed and lay back down myself. I was so tired, I just wanted to sleep, but it's hard to listen to them cry. Thankfully they usually stop after a while and for a while and talk to each other. Tammy has the hardest time, and so I picked her up, lay down with her, but couldn't get her to sleep, so she went back into her bed, which she didn't like. I then picked up Emmy, but wasn't successful either, and later tried Tammy one more time, to no avail. Maybe it's time to change to one nap per day! In the end none of them had slept, and I didn't get the sleep I needed either. Randy took them downstairs, which gave me a little time to sleep until lunch.
Then a repeat at lunch time. Prepare the food, bring them upstairs, feed them, and back to bed, hopefully for them to sleep this time. I was so tired I lay back down instead of cooking. After a while I picked up Tammy and lay down with her, and this time she slept 90 minutes on me, until 2:15 pm, which gave me some much-needed additional sleep as well. The boys also slept some.
Then we fed them their afternoon meal and took them back downstairs to play. As I needed to translate our newsletter, Randy joined the babies, while I was working. This is the only picture I have today, and I wished the quality was better, as it's so very cute.
Time went by way too fast, as did the whole day, and it wasn't long before it was 4:30 and time to go to the kitchen to get their dinner ready. They were already getting cranky. At 5 pm we fed them, then put them into the bathtub, and for the fourth day in a row Tammy just screamed in the water and wanted out. I put Sammy to bed, then Tammy, and then Emmy. Emmy simply fell asleep tonight, no crying or complaining or moving, while Tammy had a hard time as is the case most of the time, but at some point she was finally asleep. She did wake up a little later, and I gave her milk, and then woke up again later, crying, like she did last night, and I gave her dental cream, and that seemed to do the trick. I guess more teeth are on the way.
I ate dinner pretty late today, and was able to finish the German version of our newsletter; only the French left to go. Now it's 1:30 am, and I still have to clean their high chairs and pick their food for tomorrow, plus some office work to do.
