HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Again, no pictures today! What's happening to me! 😉
Again, I went to bed at 3:30 am and got up 5 hours later to make their food and feed them. Then we put them to bed for their morning nap. Tammy and Emmy were talking with each other, and when Tammy was getting whiny after half an hour, I picked her up and lay down with her. It took her 15 minutes to fall asleep, but then she slept from 10 to 11 on me. Emmy got quiet fast after his talking buddy was gone and fell asleep, and then Randy was rocking him back to sleep once he woke up crying. Tammy was woken up at 11 because Sammy was talking and getting unhappy, and Daddy had Emmy sleeping on him and couldn't respond. When I got up with Tammy and walked in, Emmy woke up too, and everyone went downstairs, after their diapers were changed, while I put their lunch food in the warmer and went back to bed, once they were all changed and downstairs.
I wasn't even asleep yet when Sonja rang the doorbell at 11:45, and so I could let her in, instead of Randy having to leave the babies and make them cry. I went to bed and wasn't asleep yet when Sonja and Randy started feeding all three at noon. Normally she comes at 1 pm, but she had to leave earlier today, so it was a blessing for me to be able to stay in bed and have her here to feed them. However, I couldn't fall asleep until they were done and back downstairs and it was quiet again.
But I wasn't meant to sleep until waking up by myself, I guess, as my hungry husband came in at 1 pm asking about his food. So while I was slowly waking up, he started cooking vegetables, while I was holding Sammy, who had been cranky, and Sonja was downstairs with the others, and then I got up and finished cooking for the three of us, while Randy went back downstairs with Sammy, who did not want to go to bed and sleep.
Our food was done, but it was time for their afternoon meal first. We fed them at 2:30, and then put them all to bed for their afternoon nap. I was hoping to get them to sleep in their beds, but Emmy was throwing a fit, wanting so bad for me to hold him, and all my tries to calm him down failed. I finally picked him up and lay down with him, and he was on his way to falling asleep. However, Tammy was crying hard, and it seems that she can't fall asleep on her own during the day. So I finally got up, hoping Emmy would sleep in his bed now, but he wasn't ready yet and started screaming again, though not as bed as before. I picked up Tammy and lay down with her, and soon Emmy got quiet and fell asleep. It was 3 pm, and it took the girl 25 minutes to fall asleep on me. Sammy was whining for quite a long time, and I thought Randy would get him, but he finally did fall asleep as well.
While Randy and Sonja were eating their lunch I had cooked, I was lying down with Tammy, not eating. It was 4:30 pm before I ate for the first time today. When Emmy woke up, Randy was rocking him back to sleep, and as soon as the clock showed 4 pm, I got up with the girl, waking her up after only 25 minutes of sleep, and waking up the boys as well.
We all went downstairs to play, while Sonja said her good-byes. Tammy and especially Emmy were pretty cranky, and I knew just how to make them laugh. By the way, the other day I heard Emmy sing for the first time, and he did it again today. I was amazed! He's talking a lot too, and it's the cutest thing. I said the Viennese word for package a few days ago, and he's been saying it a lot since then, in his way. And today he was saying the German word for "no" a lot, though I'm not positive he knew what he was saying, as it was not in a context where he would have wanted to say that.
I went upstairs before 4:30 to finally eat and get their dinner food, bathtub, and beds ready. At 5 pm we brought them upstairs to feed them. By a stroke of genius, I put Tammy's and Emmy's food (half a jar of soup) into a cup today and fed them out of it, instead of putting it on their plates. That way there was no hands in soup, and they didn't get quite as dirty from the bread and fruit. And I was able to let them out of the chairs and let them walk around, so I could put the rest of the food into their mouths.
Then they went into the bathtub, which they enjoy so much, and Sammy came out first to go to bed, then Emmy, and then Tammy. And since they had all slept until 4 pm, getting them to sleep was as hard as expected. I thought I'd never be able to walk away! Even Sammy was up for a while. One time he suddenly burst into tears and trying, and not knowing what had happened, I picked him up to comfort him. You should have seen the girl's reaction! She stood up screaming, how dare I pick up one of her siblings when I would not pick her up! After Sammy had calmed down, I put him back to bed and returned to stroke the girl's head. I'm mainly with her anyway, she has no reason to be jealous.
Emmy was getting up, walking around in his bed, throwing pacifiers and animals out, and reaching into his brother's bed to get his pacifier and stuff. I had to walk away for him to lie down, but then the girl would start screaming. I finally gave Emmy and Tammy some milk; Sammy was already asleep at that point. I was glad when after more time that had passed, I was FINALLY able to walk away.
Randy was at the grocery store during that whole time; they now close at 7 pm because of the lockdown. Then it was the same routine as always: cooking, eating, cleaning high chairs, putting everything into the dishwasher, choosing the food for tomorrow, and doing office work.
Today Tammy weighed 9.5 kilos (+100 in two weeks), Emmy 8.6 (+200 since last week), and Sammy 7.2, which is the same weight the third week in a row! He needs to gain weight!
