This morning Randy woke me up at 8:20, half an hour before my regular get-up time, as he was about to leave the house and take Sammy to his physiotherapy session. So I had to get up and went downstairs to be with Tammy and Emmy, who were playing and were excited to have me there. Just before 9 am I took them upstairs and made their food and fed them. Then I put them down for their nap, and lay down myself.

For a whole hour I tried to sleep while listening to them talk to each other; at least they weren't crying. At 10:15 I finally got up and started stroking Emmy's head until he fell asleep. Then I picked up Tammy and lay down with her. She had a hard time falling asleep, and after half an hour, she finally did. Literally just a minute later Emmy woke up crying! I got up, put Tammy to bed, and picked up Emmy, while Tammy was screaming in her bed. So I took them both to bed with me - which brought great joy and excitement to them, so sleep time was over! 30 minutes for Emmy, and 1 minute for Tammy.

I put their lunch food in the warmer and took them downstairs, where we continued playing. Just before 11:30 the boys returned; Sammy was sleeping in the stroller. Randy was sharing how Sammy had just cried and not done much there today, which didn't surprise me as his session was at the time when he usually has his nap. I was glad he was sleeping in the stroller, but that turned out to be the ONLY nap he had all day long!

And he didn't sleep long but soon woke up. We all went downstairs to feed them their lunch, just before noon. At noon we put all three down for a nap. I lay down with Tammy, while Emmy and Sammy were talking in their beds. After a while Emmy finally did fall asleep and slept for a short time, while Sammy never slept. At 1 pm our friend Sonja came to help, and Randy walked into our bedroom, which woke up Tammy. She had only slept 30 minutes, which was way too little. Emmy also woke up a little later.

They were all downstairs, while Randy was cooking his famous omelets today; I was just too tired to cook today. I was eating upstairs, but heard them crying hard downstairs, so I took my plate and joined Sonja and the little ones. All three wanted to be with me, while I was holding my plate up into the air and trying to take a bite from time to time, without them getting a hold of my plate. At least they had stopped crying. Actually Sonja did pretty well getting Sammy to stop crying, especially by letting him fly, which is no small feat. But they were all pretty tired and cranky, so I finally decided it was time to go ahead and feed them their afternoon meal.

We all went upstairs to give them their cereal with fruit. They always pull out everything from the shelves they can reach, including a bag of baby cookies/bread (Zwieback) they have had out many times, but had never tried. I don't know why, but I thought it was time to try that, so each one of them received a cookie (it's just hard, dry bread). It was fun watching them study and try the cookie, break it up and taste it. The videos I've uploaded give you a great picture.

Then it was time for the afternoon nap. It was 2:30, and again I put all three to bed as they were so tired. Emmy fell asleep quickly, after stroking his head for just a short time. Then I took Tammy and lay down with her. Sammy was not sleeping but upset he was in bed, and I could never get Tammy to fall asleep for some reason, even though she was tired, so we went downstairs. Only Emmy was sleeping in his bed. When he woke up a little while later, as he always does, Randy sat down in the rocking chair with him, and Emmy continued sleeping. At 4 pm I went upstairs to bring Emmy down, as that's the cut off time for naps, and found both Father and son asleep.

All babies were united again downstairs and playing. Sammy was very tired, and so was Tammy. We were playing until 4:30 pm, which is when I go upstairs to prepare their dinner. Daddy was trying to keep Sammy happy until dinner time, while Sonja did a great job with the other two.

It was before 5 pm when I was ready with everything, and we started feeding them. I was feeding Tammy, who usually doesn't eat when she is tired, but to my greatest surprise she ate everything, and so did Emmy. Then I took them to the bathtub, and for the third day in a row Tammy was screaming and wanted out. I ended up taking her out first, and when Randy came with Sammy, he finished her, while I was bathing Sammy. Sammy greatly enjoyed the water and stayed in there longer than usual, while we were waiting for the changing table to be available. Then I put Tammy to bed, while Daddy dressed Sammy for the night. By the time Sammy came, she was nearly asleep, which is very unusual. I put Sammy down, and returned to Tammy who had complained for a moment that I had walked away. When Emmy came a little while later, she was asleep for good.

Now Emmy was a different story, as he had slept until 4 pm. For a whole hour I tried to get him to sleep. Then I ended up giving him some milk and walked away, and that did the trick.

Randy was already at the grocery store, and I started cooking and then eating. Now it's pretty late, but I'm still hoping to finish our newsletter and get it out.
