HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Last night I was heading to bed just before 3 am, and my alarm got me up as always at 8:50, and we fed them at 9 am, then put them to bed. The boys slept in their beds, and Tammy on me. After Emmy woke up at the typical half-hour mark, Randy was not able to rock him back to sleep. After Sammy was also up, they all went downstairs, and Tammy joined them after she woke up last. I put their food into the warmers and went back to be, and woke back up at noon, and got up to feed them lunch. Then they went downstairs so I could cook for the adults.
Time always flies. After we had eaten, I had some stuff to do to prepare for us leaving the house at 4 pm – pick their clothes, make their dinner food to go. The little ones were getting cranky, especially Emmy, and so we fed them just after 2 pm and then put them all to bed. Emmy was so tired he fell asleep fast. Sammy also fell asleep, but not so Tammy. I didn’t have time to rock her, as I was getting their food ready in the kitchen, but her crying did not cease but rather increase. And then Emmy woke up at the half-hour mark. I stopped, picked him up, and handed him to Randy to rock and picked up the girl and lay down to her. It took a while, but I finally got her to sleep. And then I fell asleep too. At 4 pm I woke back up. We were supposed to leave at 4!
We got up and went into high gear to get ready to leave, dressing them, getting their food and milk ready, as well as ourselves. We left at 4:45 pm, tried to catch the 4:50 train, and just about missed it. So we took the subway, which takes longer, and got to church over half an hour late.
First we went to the baby room to feed them. There was a 5-month-old baby there, and Tammy and Emmy stayed close to me and just stared in its direction. As time went on, they started moving around and getting closer to the baby. The whole time I was following them and putting food into their mouths. Sammy didn't really want to eat solid food, and much of his food also landed in his siblings' mouths.
Once they had all eaten, we returned to the sanctuary, where Tammy and Emmy started walking around and greeting - or bothering - everybody. They pretty much walk all the time now! I had to go after them and turn them around a few times. Once Tammy was on her way to the front! People actually enjoyed it when they came up to them and interacted with them. In the end they went up to this young guy who picked Emmy up and Tammy was right there as well. And they discovered the staircase to the translation booths, and I had to sit down on the doorstep to keep them from climbing up there.
Emmy was getting tired and getting cranky as the service was approaching the end. It was cold outside, but hot inside, so you always want to leave quickly after they have their coats on, which isn't that easy. And it was nice to actually talk to some people. That alone is reason to go through all the hassle to go to church!
We left, making our way home before the 8 pm curfew. We took the train home, which was much faster, though we had to carry the strollers up a few steps into the regular train, and then back down, but Austrians always offer to help.
All three had been awake the whole time. They are definitely not babies any more! Emmy was the most tired, but they went to bed in their usual order, first Sammy, then Emmy, then Tammy. I was hoping they'd all fall asleep fast, but Tammy needed a little time again, and Sammy some milk as he was the only one who hadn't had any on the way home. Tammy kept raising her head and I left and came back a few times before she was asleep for good. By the way, Tammy and Emmy now repeat words and sounds we make more and more. And they still say "oh-oh" all the time! It's so cute!
Now it's 1 am, and I have a little time left to work.
