HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
I've been going to bed late again, usually around 2 am, last night it was more like 2:30 am, and I've noticed that I sleep like a log when I finally get to sleep. Many days I hardly notice Randy getting up in the morning, when the babies wake up, to take care of them. I only do when they cry for longer periods of time.
Today my alarm went off earlier than usual, at 8:30, so it was a short night. I had to pick out their clothes and get their bathing suits ready, then make their cereal with milk. We fed them at 9 am, as usual, and then dressed them in their warm clothes to go outside. We got everything ready, put them in the strollers, and off we went on the 45 minute subway ride to the swimming pool.
Grandma met us there, and this time we had plenty of time before the class started. They always give us plastic bags to put on the wheels, as we can roll the strollers all the way to the pool. We first change ourselves in the changing area, and then change them right by the pool.
Today Grandma had Emmy, but then switched and had Tammy, and I had Sammy. Sammy had lots of fun, smiling a lot. It was a good class. It's less fun having to come out after half an hour and get dressed again. None of them had slept on the way there, though it was their regular nap time, and so they were all tired. The boys were asleep right away when we left. Tammy was crying so hard in the subway, that I had to get her out of the stroller and hold her. She fell asleep on my chest, and I put her back into the stroller before we got off to change subways. As she sleeps on her belly, I put her down on her belly; she hadn't sleep in the stroller that way before. Sammy was already awake after only a few minutes, as the subway doors are loud when they close. He never fell back asleep. Emmy woke up just before we got back home.
We finally arrived home at the expected time, at 12:45 pm, and put their food into the warmer. Just after 1 pm our friend Sonja arrived to help with the little ones, which we were really thankful for. Randy was making omelets for us, so Sonja and I fed the babies.
After they had eaten, I put Sammy to bed, as he hadn't slept yet, but he didn't want to sleep, so I took him back downstairs. He was fine with Sonja for a little bit, but I had him quite a bit in the afternoon, and also had him in the swing right next to me, as I was trying to do some office work. He actually never slept until the evening; by then he was so tired he was falling asleep drinking his going-to-bed milk.
Emmy and Tammy got cranky and tired as well. I took Tammy upstairs to lie down with her, and she was about to fall asleep, but I heard Emmy scream downstairs. He was extremely tired. I finally decided to go get him, so Tammy returned to Sonja who played with her, while I took Emmy upstairs and lay down with him. He fell asleep right away and had a good, long nap.
They'd had their lunch 2 hours later than usual, at 1:30, so their next meal was at 3:30, and then their last meal at 5:30, only half an hour later than usual. Randy always feeds Sammy, and then Sonja fed Emmy and I fed Tammy. Tammy ate all her food, but Emmy always wants out early. You then have to go follow him around and keep putting food into his mouth; Sonja was a hero for doing that, as it's challenging. I then changed them and put them to bed, one after another, and they all fell asleep fast. I was able to walk away earlier than usual.
And that's when I get to cook, eat, and then start working. I still have two hours left to work.
