HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
It's 1 am, and sometimes it's hard to remember the details of the day when it's just another day at home.
It was a cold, rainy and dark day and so we had the light on for pretty much the whole day. For me the day started as usual with the alarm going off at 8:50, and once again I had gone to bed too late, and I was so tired, not wanting to get up. I got their breakfast ready and we fed them, then it was nap time. I had Tammy sleeping on me, while the boys slept in their beds. Once she woke up, I took her downstairs to Randy, put their lunch into the warmer, and lay back down for a little bit, until the second alarm woke me up at 11:25. Again, I did not want to get up. If only I could sleep as long as I wanted to for ONE day!
I got up and took the food downstairs where Randy was with all three and we fed them. Then I went to the kitchen to cook for us, and we ate. I then spent some time in the play area with them. Randy put the little bench back in there, and they love stepping on it so they can see better over the shelves.
Emmy was very tired, as the door bell had woken him up early in the morning, and so I decided we'd put them to bed early, before the afternoon meal. First I lay down with Tammy, who was on her way to sleeping, but Emmy was so tired he was crying so hard, that I got up and put her to bed. I stroked her head a few times and took Emmy to bed with me. Now it was Tammy who was crying. Emmy was so tired he fell asleep on me fast. With her crying so hard, and him asleep, I got up and put him to bed, and he continued sleeping. So I picked Tammy back up and lay down with her, and she fell asleep.
At 3 pm the Mobile Therapy Support lady showed up to play with Sammy. Tammy woke up because of the noise surrounding it. The lady went downstairs to find Sammy, and I reminded Randy that Emmy had not had his afternoon meal, so he came upstairs to feed him, where I was already feeding Tammy. Sammy was crying downstairs, so the lady came upstairs with him as well to join the rest of us. Once they had eaten, we all went downstairs. The lady played with all three for 90 minutes, and part of the time I was in there with them - when Sammy was crying and needed me - and the rest of the time I tried to work on the computer. Randy left to go to the pharmacy and post office. He returned in time to say good-bye to the lady, and I went upstairs to get their dinner ready.
It was after 5 pm when we sat down at the dinner table to feed them. As always, Emmy could not stay in the high chair for the whole meal but had to get out to roam around. Whenever he'd come buy, I put some more food into his mouth. Tammy stayed in her seat to the end, then she got to come out as well which delighted her.
While they were roaming around, I got the bathtub ready, then put the two of them in there and bathed Sammy right next to them. He now likes baths again. After Tammy and Emmy had played for a while, I got out Emmy first and got him ready for bed. I put him down with a bottle, then got Tammy out. Sammy had been patiently waiting, and Randy fed him his milk while I got Tammy ready for bed. Then I put her down with her bottle as well, and once Sammy was finished, I put him to bed. I then stayed there, as Tammy needs my presence to fall asleep. The boys fell asleep fast, but Tammy needed a while. Randy had already left to go to the grocery store.
It was late before Tammy was finally asleep, but then I got to cook and eat my dinner, before going to work. I'm still so very much behind on so many things. Good news is that Randy's permit to stay in Austria for another year finally arrived today, 2.5 months after filling out the forms. Bad news is that IKEA STILL hasn't finished the kitchen two months after it was installed, that I can't ever get through to them on the phone and they don't reply to online customer support. Please pray for a resolution.
