HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Another day, another late night, trying to remember what happened many hours ago. It's nearly 2 am, and normally I unload the dishwasher or clean the high chairs at this time.
I went to bed at 3 am last night, and was really tired all day long today. I crawled out of bed just before 9 am to make their food and feed them. Then it was nap time. Tammy was the one sleeping on me, but she woke up early, at 10 already after just a little more than half an hour, and wouldn't fall asleep again, so I took her to her Daddy and went back to sleep. It was hard to get up to feed them lunch; the food wasn't in the warmer yet, so I put it in, and got up again 15 minutes later to go get the kids and take them up to the dining room table. It was just after noon and we needed to leave at 1:15 pm.
After they were fed, we put their clothes on and ate ourselves; thankfully I had made a big pot of soup two days earlier, so I just had to warm it up. Still, we were in a rush, and left a few minutes later than planned. There's a lot involved to get 3 one-year-olds ready to leave!
We got to the pediatrician's a few minutes late; my Mom was already waiting for us there. Emmy had slept on the way there. Thanks to Covid, there's now fewer people in the waiting room, and we were called in right away. We undressed them, and they were measured and weighed. They didn't write all the numbers on the cards so I emailed them asking for the information. Then the doctor looked into their ears and throats and listened to their chests. All three were crying, to the point that my Mom was surprised. Tammy was very tired, having slept so little in the morning, and Emmy had just woken up. They even cried during this examination. Then they got their shots, which didn't make it any better. We dressed them again, and off we went. This picture shows Grandma with Emmy and Tammy by the window, looking at the traffic below, while I was at the reception making the next appointment.
Then it was time to say good-bye to Grandma and start our journey back home. It's been a long time since I saw Sammy sleep in the stroller. I don't think he had slept in the morning, so he fell asleep fast and slept a while. Tammy also fell asleep after a while.
It was nearly 4 pm when we got home. I myself couldn't keep my eyes open at that point. I took the babies downstairs and sat down with them, having fun with them. I was amazed to watch how much Emmy is walking around now, and amazed when he even stepped up onto the mat without any problem whatsoever. Why is Tammy not doing the same? We had fun, even though they were all a little cranky.
At 4:30 we switched and I went upstairs to the kitchen to make their dinner. Tonight I increased the amount of soup and dropped the scrambled eggs. They didn't eat all the soup, and Tammy didn't eat much bread. Sometimes they close their mouths or turn away, but after a few minutes they'll open it again and eat. In any case, by the time they are done the food is everywhere. I now bathe them EVERY night because of it.
Sammy wasn't very happy, and I had to give him some milk before he fell asleep. Emmy and Tammy needed a little time, but it wasn't too bad, before they fell asleep.
Then it was time to make our dinner, eat, and get to work. Randy has been putting the inserts for the IKEA shelves together and will be done with all that by tomorrow night. I did some tidying up, as we FINALLY have a cleaning lady come tomorrow. We need her big time!
And now I'd better go to bed, as we go swimming in the morning, so less sleep for me.
The only measurement I can give you right now is that Tammy is 75 cm long now, and Sammy 71.5.
