13 months 21 days

Right now my bed time is always between 2:30 and 3 am. I always feed all three before going to bed, and that way they sleep until about 7:30, so at least Randy gets a full night's rest. Making the switch to "no food at night" is gonna be hard, and I still have to find the right strategy.

It's always really hard for me to get up at 8:50 to make their food and feed them. At least those about 6 hours of sleep are uninterrupted most days now. We fed them at the dining room table, and then it was nap time. I put Emmy into his bed, and lay down with Tammy. It took Emmy a while with no one around, but he did finally fall asleep. Randy said he did not sleep long. Tammy slept until 11 am, so about 90 minutes, and so did I. I took her downstairs to the boys, put their food into the warmer, and went back to bed for another half hour. I had forgotten to turn my daily 11:26 alarm back on, as it's off on Thursdays, so I woke up a few minutes later, when Randy was changing a baby just on the other side of our bedroom door.

We fed them their lunch meal upstairs as well, in their new high chairs, even though they weren't going to bed after. It's more of a hassle, as I always carry two babies up and down at the time, and they are getting heavy, but it's better for them to get used to always eating at the dining room table and in their chairs.

The IKEA guys actually arrived just before we started feeding them. They installed my kitchen nearly 3 months ago, but didn't finish it as parts were missing. I had tried everything to contact them, phone, email, even paid a higher phone bill, as I kept calling and they would always kick me out of the line after 50 minutes of waiting. And they simply ignored my emails. And then someone told me they know someone working there, and suddenly, they contacted me and today was the day they came to finish the kitchen. They had to close a gap in the corner on top, and put the dishwasher front on. It's actually been pretty annoying for the dishwasher door not to stay open without the front panel, so I was glad the day had finally come when it would be over.

The babies were curious while we were feeding them, and Emmy got scared when they were drilling. I had to hold him in my arms after that and continue feeding him there. Then they all went downstairs, while I stayed upstairs and did some much-needed work, waiting for them to finish so I could cook our food. And then they informed me that they had broken a part and had to come back another day to fix it. Oh no! Not again! How long is it gonna take this time?!? So I still don't have a front panel on the dishwasher. 🤨

I started cooking, and we ate later than usual because of it all. Then we spent some time playing with them. They have so many toys now, and after seeing how much they enjoyed the new ones, it seemed to make sense to rotate the toys ever so often, so that they are new again. So I turned around some of the shelves with toys, and will turn them back and others around in a week or so.

Emmy continues walking without holding on to anything quite a bit; he hasn't broken his record of 14 steps yet. Tammy was pretty cranky again today; I believe another tooth is coming. And Sammy now had his fourth tooth break through; they now all have 4 teeth.

At 2:15 we fed them their afternoon meal. Tammy was so extremely tired that she would not eat anything. She was just crying. I had to take her upstairs for her nap without food. I put a tired Emmy into his bed, and was able to get him to sleep by stroking his head. Then I took Tammy to bed with me and gave her a bottle a milk she drank after calming down. She then slept 90 minutes again, until 4 pm when I got up with her, as I don't want them to sleep later or they won't sleep at night. Do they need more sleep when a tooth is coming?

We went downstairs to the boys again, and had some more fun. At 4:30 I already had to leave to get their dinner ready. I feel like I had hardly been downstairs today.

I made some changes, so tonight they had potato soup (first time soup at night), scrambled eggs and bread with cream cheese, and less fruit (bananas, strawberries and raspberries). I like these new plates with great suctions cups, so they can't turn over the plate, but they can put their fingers into it and feed themselves. Or get the food everywhere.

I put them into their seats, put the seat belts on, and Emmy immediately grabbed a piece of bread and put it into his mouth. Great job! I have yet to see Tammy put any food into her mouth. Tammy used to be the first to do things in the past, but right now it's Emmy who is the one doing things first. His hand then went right into the soup, as you can see on the picture, so EVERYTHING was dirty, and now I have two chairs to clean after every meal, besides the babies and the floor. That's why we take their clothes off before feeding them.

Again, Tammy did not eat much, really just the soup and a few bananas. Emmy ate everything; usually it's Tammy who eats Emmy's leftovers, but tonight it was the other way round. I was impressed that they ate everything in their chairs, and I did not have to take them out and run after them to feed them. It's not a good habit, and I'd like for them to get used to only eating while in their chairs. As for Sammy, Randy is still feeding him in his arms. The high chair might not give him enough stability to sit him, but the physiotherapist suggested he should be ready to use it, so he's gonna try it out soon.

Since they were so dirty, I decided to put them into the bathtub. Emmy and Tammy love playing in there, and Sammy now enjoys it too. I bathed him, put his pj's on and gave him his milk, while Randy stayed with the other two. After Sammy was in bed, I did the same with Emmy, and then Tammy.

And tonight, though tired, all three stayed awake for a while. Sammy turned on his back (he only sleeps on his belly), and the other two stood up in bed, so I walked away. That caused loud protest, and when I came back, they lay back down. I walked away a few times tonight. I noticed that Sammy now simply turns back to his belly in his bed as well, when he wants to sleep. Emmy also went to sleep after a while, but it was Tammy who needed a long time. I gave her some dental cream at some point, and was glad when she finally did fall asleep.

And that's when I finally get to cook, eat, and do office work. I don't get ANYTHING done during the day any more! And certain things have to be done at daytime. The day just goes by so fast.
