HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
I didn't make it to bed earlier last night; what a surprise! 😉 At least my sleep wasn't interrupted too much, as I made sure they were all fed before I went to bed at 2:30. My alarm woke me at 8:50, and by 9 am I'm done with their food and we can feed them. Today we went back to two naps per day (which is age-appropriate for a 11-month-old), so we fed them at the dining room table. I first put Emmy to bed and lay down with Tammy, but even though she was tired, she was not tired enough. So I switched babies, but it was the same story. So I put them both into their beds and lay down alone. I could hear them happily talk with each other. When I woke up about an hour later, I decided to give it another try as they were surely tired by then, and so I lay down with Tammy who finally slept; about 45 minutes on me. Randy said that Emmy had also slept a few minutes (but not much).
Once Tammy was awake again, I passed her on to Randy, and had a few more needed minutes of sleep before the next alarm went off. I got up and got their food ready, and we fed them downstairs. It's always a challenge to feed them, running after them and putting the spoon into their mouths, which can be messy.
Then I cooked for Randy and me, while he stayed with them. His food was done much earlier, so when I went downstairs with my plate, he got up to go back to the post office with the wrong box and get the right one. I had to eat sitting with the babies, which was very challening, as especially Emmy tried very hard to get to my food.
I had a fun time with the three of them, and got to take some great pictures. Which ones to choose for this post! It's so great to see Sammy move around so much more, and be more involved with his siblings. Today all three were interested in this sound board at the same time. It was also so cute how Tammy and Emmy interacted, holding hands, and Emmy putting his face on hers. And it was hilarious when Emmy first played with Daddy's coffee thermos, and when Tammy came and took it away, he was upset. I think that picture speaks volumes!
Randy returned in time for their next meal. This time it was upstairs again, as it was followed by another nap, and their beds are right next to the dining room. They were all tired. I put Emmy into his bed, and stroked his head, and he fell asleep. I could do that as Randy was changing Tammy, and by the time he was done with her, Emmy was asleep. That was great news. I could now focus on Tammy. I laid down with her, and once she was asleep, I put her into her bed where she continued sleeping.
I now had a little time to do some much-needed work. Amazon delivered part of our monthly automatic order this morning and there were 18(!) boxes sitting by our door, mostly baby food! I started opening and folding boxes and stacking the baby food on the dining room table. I was only able to put them away in the evening, when they were all sleeping. I wasn't done, and hadn't even started with the kitchen, when Emmy woke up. The only way he goes back to sleep is if he can sleep on you, so I lay down with him, and he slept a little longer. Sammy woke up first, and I was glad when Randy finally came to get him. Once Emmy was awake, he joined Randy and Sammy downstairs, and then Tammy followed suit.
Randy wanted to get the curtains up by the staircase, so he left me with the babies to work on that. Tammy was pretty cranky. At 4:30 we switched so I could go make their dinner, which takes me half an hour. Tonight they had chicken instead of scrambled eggs. We fed them, then changed them and put them to bed. Emmy needed just a little help, so did Sammy, and Tammy was sitting up. I ended up walking away before Tammy slept, and was surprised that she didn't mind. That's progress! I did have to come back a few times and help her. She cried more than she should, so I gave her some dental cream; she might have another tooth coming.
Just as they were either asleep or nearly asleep, Randy drilled into the concrete to put the curtain up. It's loud, and it's not far from the babies. Emmy woke up, Sammy and Tammy started screaming. Randy didn't drill for long, but I had to try to comfort them all at the same time. I picked up Sammy and then stroked his head. Emmy was okay, and Tammy needed some stroking too. A while later they were asleep (again). Now the curtain is up and finally blocking that bright light coming in from the outside, as there is a lamp right in front of the glass. Randy bought a higher ladder just to do this, and took all the boards out of the shelves to put them on the steps and make them even to be able to put the ladder there. It sure looked dangerous, but he's inventive and gets things done!
