HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Last night was busier than usual. I went to bed around 2:30 am, and at 4 am they all needed my attention. The morning was as usual, cereal with milk at 9 am, then nap time. I lay down with Tammy, who was nearly asleep, but Emmy was crying so hard, that I got up and put her in her bed and picked up Emmy. She was falling asleep there, when the door bell rang (package delivery), and then she was up and I could not get her back to sleep. I switched babies again, but Emmy did not appreciate it. What do you do? I was hoping Randy would finish his breakfast quickly so he could rock one. Sammy was sleeping peacefully.
Today they had tomato soup for lunch, which is a little liquidy. Instead of feeding them at the same time, I fed Tammy first and then Emmy, so they'd be in my arm, shortening the distance between cup and their mouths. They were pretty hungry and ate it all. Then I cooked our lunch and we ate as well.
Then it was play time. First Randy was with them, and he put up a barrier so they'd stay in the living room area. A friend has just given us this soft carpet, and it's great for the babies to play on, and for Sammy to lie on. And they can still push their cart around! Then I switched with Randy, and we had lots of fun.
Today it was dark and rainy all day long, and the first day of cold weather. So no going outside! At 2 pm we fed them their cereal with fruit, and then it was time for the afternoon nap. Tammy and Emmy were already really tired, and so I actually succeeded in putting them both into bed and they both fell asleep! That was a first! They were all sleeping, and I was able to go to the office and work a little. But only for a little time, then I heard Emmy cry. Sometimes they wake up, and if you're not there, they won't fall back asleep. I quickly went upstairs, picked him up and lay down with him, and he immediately continued sleeping. I wasn't able to work, but I sure enjoyed having my son sleep on my chest!
Tammy also wakes up sooner when she's not sleeping on me, and Randy got her and took her downstairs. When I heard her cry downstairs for a long time, I finally got up as well, waking up Emmy in the process, to see what's going on. She was in Randy's arms and still crying. Sometimes they just want to be with Mommy. I picked her up and held her, and she would not even let me set her down for a second.
Then our friend Anna arrived with her daughter to help for 2 hours. Yeah! What a blessing! Anna vaccuumed and cleaned, while her daughter played with the little ones. And they got to ride their car again, on the inside. When Sammy got whiny, I had to hold him to keep him happy and tried doing office work with one hand.
At 4:30 pm I went into the kitchen to get their dinner ready, and Randy took Sammy. Tonight they had bread with cream cheese, soft cheese, strawberries, raspberries and apple.
Just after 5 pm we sat down at the dining room table. Randy fed Sammy, I fed Emmy, and Anna Tammy. It was the first time Emmy let me put him into the big plastic high chair we set up. He has more room in there to move, but he's also still really too little for it. Still, he liked it and ate most of his meal in it. Tammy stayed in her chair the whole time.
Then Emmy made friends with the vaccuum cleaner - or conquered it - but Tammy wasn't so sure about it when it was moving with a loud noise inside the bathroom. You'll have to read what they're saying about it on "The Wilson Triplets" page.
Then it was time for them to get changed, put their pj's on, and lie down to sleep with a bottle of milk. Our friends said their good-byes, while I was trying to get them to sleep. Tammy and Emmy needed a little time, though they were both tired, but tonight it was Sammy who just didn't want to sleep. He just kept smiling at me and turning over onto his back (he only sleeps on his belly). I kept turning him back over, with him smiling at me, and then he'd cry when I'd walk away. I then smelled a dirty diaper and changed him. After that it still took a little time, but then he finally fell asleep.
I had a little time left to make and eat my soup before our bi-yearly board meeting. It was great to see our friends and board members again on Zoom. It's been a weird season, not traveling, and not seeing so many people we usually see every year. We should talk to EVERYONE on Zoom!
The meeting was over at 9 pm, and then it was time for me to get to work. I would like to go to bed before 2:30 am tonight, but there's just so much to do!
