Randy left the house at 7 am to go to the apartment as the IKEA workers were arriving at 8 am to start putting the kitchen in. Thankfully Caritas allowed Christine to come back for two half-days to help, and she arrived at 8 am. I was up feeding babies when she came, though I usually sleep at this time. She loves the babies and was excited to see them. The babies themselves needed a little bit to remember her and be themselves with her. They were really excited when Christine let them out of their bed and crawl around everywhere! She had actually cleaned the whole living room and kitchen before she did. What a blessing!

They played so hard with her that they were sleeping when I got up at 11:30. Usually they're already eating at that time. We both fed them and I made my meal that I ate quickly as the clock was ticking. She had to leave at 2 pm and I needed her to help me get the babies to the new apartment before then. She was so gracious and stayed longer, while I showed her the apartment.

When we got there, we had to come in through the door on the bottom, as there was no room for strollers upstairs. Randy let us in, and I was in complete shock when I saw that he had started emptying out boxes which was all non-essential stuff. What in the world! There was stuff everywhere, in all the place where the furniture needed to be put. My plan had been to bring the furniture over and then open the boxes with essential stuff first (which is everything that is still in the old apartment) and put that where it belongs, and only then tackle the non-essential boxes. I started moving stuff and making room for the furniture, and it wasn't so bad in the end.

First we fed the babies their second meal and put them in their new permanent play area. I think it's pretty nice! It's definitely big. They loved it, and loved all the new toys Randy had gotten out. They started playing right away.

Sammy got tired first , which is often the case, and I put him in a separate area where he could sleep undisturbed. By the time he woke up, the other two were ready to sleep. They were cranky and calling my name. I joined them, and that made them happy, and they came to me, wanting my help to fall asleep. I helped Emmy first. Once he slept, I helped Tammy fall asleep as well. Now Sammy had me all to himself. We got the mats for him primarily, so he could crawl better, but somehow it wasn't working. It was very hot, and he only had a diaper on. He was sticky and somehow couldn't slide. Tomorrow we'll put the body on so he can slide better.

When I went upstairs to see what the workers had done, I was impressed how much they had done in half a day, and this picture shows the full day's work. It's gonna look great! They did have to cover up one power outlet, and the corner plugs are not quite right, but maybe that's gonna change tomorrow, when they finish it all. They actually already left at 4 pm instead of 5, so they must have known they have accomplished plenty for the day. There were two of them, and they did complain about the heat. I was sure missing having a fan downstairs! Randy is gonna take one over there tomorrow. He put the baby bed together today that we're gonna use until all the furniture gets here (it's missing some bars). I'm looking forward to putting the upstairs together tomorrow once the kitchen is done and we have the space back where all the boxes are.

After the workers left, we were still waiting for an Amazon delivery - the first one to our new address - and then we left. It was already 5:30 pm. Emmy had just woken up and was very unhappy, wanting to be held, but I only dressed him and put him in the stroller, which really upset him. I had to wake up Tammy who was not happy about it at all. We left through the downstairs doors again, the way we had come.

Because of that out-of-order elevator, it took us a long time to get home, nearly an hour. Nobody slept in the stroller. I made their dinner, and we fed them, changed them, and put them to bed. They boys went to sleep right away, and I thought the girl would because of the late time, but she didn't. However, I was amazed that at some point she lay down all by herself and fell asleep, and I did not have to put her down or stroke her head. Good job, Tammy!
