HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Last night I fed babies 4 times after midnight and before gonig to bed. My weaning them off the night feedings is not working so well.
It always takes me a while to fall asleep, and this morning it was 5 when I last looked at the time. Needless to say, it was really hard getting up, but I had to feed babies. And I had already had Sammy with me twice as he was crying, before I ever got up for good.
After we had fed them, I cooked, we ate, and Randy left to go to the grocery store before everything is closed for the weekend. Only to come back empty-handed, as we had not been aware that it was a holiday today (Mary's ascension).
I was alone with the little ones for a while. Unfortunately it's not as easy as just laying down with them and getting some rest. I was very tired, and stayed that way until the evening.
The days ressemble each other, and that time with them today now is a blurr. Thank God for pictures! Sammy was sleeping in his bed for a while. Tammy was so very tired, I put her in the swing right next to me at the desk. When Emmy got fussy, alone in the play area, I let him out and go explore a little. This little guy is really fast, though, and you can't let him out of his sight! I had to go after him a few times, before I put him back in there, which he did not like, but I had to go get the next meal ready, as Sammy was getting hungry and letting me know.
I was glad when Randy returned, even though empty-handed, and together we fed them, with the clock ticking as it was time to pack up and go to church - for the first time since the move. I had to look up what the best way to go there was.
We had to take an S-train and the subway. The S-train was only running every 15 minutes. We could not catch the first one that would have taken us there early, and we had just missed the next one when we got to the platform, so we got to church late.
Tammy and Emmy were very active again, exploring everything and making friends with another little girl, who shared her shoes and dolls with them. She kept trying to put Emmy's pacifier into his mouth, which he did not want. And she wanted to put them both into her little doll stroller! I had hoped to be able to sit and relax, but I was up and on my toes the whole time. Sammy was with Daddy the whole time, while I was going after the other two. At one point Emmy was heading straight to the exit! I guess he wanted to go check out children's church.
After the service, we barely talked to anybody, as they move out the first group to get ready for the second service. One lady came to us and told us she had some baby clothes for us, and as we don't have a car, she was gonna bring it to our house later. How sweet!
We took the subway back to the train station. They were all tired. Emmy really wanted to come out of the stroller, so I got him up out while we waited for the S-train. It was a 13-minute wait, but when the train came, it was a regular one with high steps, and we simply could not do it with the strollers, so we had to wait for the actual S-train 9 minutes later. That was a long wait all in all, while they were getting more and more tired and fussy.
It had taken us a long time to get home, and I went straight to making their last meal. All three of them were crying at that point, hungry and tired. We fed them all, changed them, and put them to bed. It all sounds so easy! And they fell asleep pretty fast, as it was later than usual.
That's when we prepare our own dinner, which takes a very long time for me, cutting up all my salad ingredients, and so it gets late before I ever get to go to work. Randy put another two shelves together. Not much left to go now! And while I started writing this earlier than the last few nights, I still need to work on translating the last newsletter. I don't know when I'll actually get to send out the German and French version!
