HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Tonight it's 3 am. Last night it was after 4 again before I went to bed, and having done that 3 days in the row, I was so extremely tired this afternoon that I could barely keep my eyes open.
Because of that it was great timing that Randy was the one cooking lunch today. Ever so often he makes omelets for us and does a great job; one of those cooking skills he learned during my pregnancy when I was out of it. After we had fed them and he went to the kitchen, I joined the little ones in their area, thankful to be lying down, while they climbed all over me. I ended up eating my omelet in there too, which was quite a challenge, as they were extremely interested in it. I had to keep holding my plate high up in the air as they kept trying to get it.
As soon as Randy had eaten, he had to leave, and he even ended up being late. I was alone with the little ones and didn't mind as I was too tired to do anything anyway.
Recently Sammy has been the one always sleeping first, and then the others sleep after him. I put him into his bed upstairs where he can sleep in peace; as soon as Randy has put together the two beds we brought over here from the old apartment, there'll be a bed downstairs that he can sleep in.
The other two kept playing until they also got very tired. I had one on each arm until they finally fell asleep. Emmy fell asleep between my legs, and when I tried to gently move away, he slept in a really funny position, but seemed to enjoy it. I was able to put Tammy down too, so I had a few free minutes. I got their second meal ready, knowing that I would not have the opportunity to do so once they're awake and screaming every second I'm not with them. Unfortunately, when they wake up for a second and notice I'm not there, they're up screaming, instead of continuing sleeping. I had not even finished preparing their food!
I took it downstairs right away, as it was time to eat. I was a little overwhelmed having three babies cry for food at the same time. I fed Sammy first. Then I fed the other two at the same time, which can be a little challenging. Right then my friend knocked at the glass door down here. I had never heard a door bell. I was relieved to see her and let her in, causing the babies to cry because I had left them. I was so thankful she was here to help, just at the right time! She finished feeding one, while I finished the other one. She saw how tired I was and encouraged me to go take a nap. I finally gave in and lay down.
I was lying in bed for half an hour, exhausted, which felt great, but never actually fell all the way asleep. I was thinking of all the things I had to get done. I finally got up and went back to work.
My friend could only stay for 2 hours, but ended up staying a little longer, which I was grateful for, as putting them to bed is the toughest time when you're all by yourself. We fed them together, then I put Sammy to bed.
Tammy was extremely tired, so much so that she barely ate anything. I had to put her to bed like that and ended up feeding her some milk when she woke up later, and then again before 2 am, when she woke up hungry. She did fall asleep relatively fast.
Emmy came last, and he was the one taking a very long time to fall asleep tonight. I simply let him be, while unpacking baby clothes and putting them away into the new drawers. From time to time I'd lay him down again, and at some point he finally fell asleep. I continued filling the drawers with their clothes until they were all full. I took me hours to do all that, and was just done when Randy returned home late.
Randy had been at the old apartment where my Mom's cleaning lady met him, and on short notice a friend from church joined her, and three people were actually really needed to finish the job. They worked for a long time, and I was told it's mostly done. We should be able to return the apartment soon; first we're gonna try to get a copy of the key made, as the lost key would cost us 800€ ($1000).
Yesterday Randy hooked the washing machine up and started using it right away, and I unpacked the cloth diapers today and put them up, so now he can start using them again. Randy still put some shelves together tonight and put them in place. This wall of shelves to the left of my office, separating it from the guest room, is now done. I'm a little concerned that Randy is not getting enough sleep, as he works in the evening and goes to bed late and gets up early. Before he would sleep on the couch, and though the couch is set up, he goes to work instead.
I myself also need to get more sleep as I've been going to my limits myself. I was supposed to translate the newsletter into German tonight, but never got to it. And then I also have the French translation to do. No clue when it will get done!
It's approaching my bed time of 4 am, so good thing I'm done!
