11 months 15 days

This morning Emmy woke up at 3:15 am. I hadn't slept for more than an hour. At first I thought it was after 4 (Randy's shift), so Randy got up to make the milk and then informed me how early it was, so I fed Emmy and put him back to bed, before going to bed myself. That way Randy also got some more sleep before all three actually got up.

Around 6 am he took them all downstairs to their play area after feeding and dressing them, where our friend is sleeping, who came to help us, and she was right there to go on the mats with them and play with them, which allowed Randy to work.

I had a hard time getting up today, even at 11:30, as the last few days had been so extremely tiring. But I had to mix their food up as they were hungry, and then Barbara and I fed them, while Randy continued working.

Barbara even brought some home-made food, so I put her lasagna into the oven. It looked so good, but I'm not allowed to eat pasta. Randy had put my desk back together, and the three of us put the heavy shelves on top, so now I can start putting my stuff back on and in. And Randy and Barbara had a place to sit and eat (as my office is still set up on the dining room table upstairs), and look at the babies at the same time.

Sammy was upstairs with me, where I was cooking my own meal. We had thought he was tired, as he was cranky, but he did not like being in bed, so I put him in the swing instead where he could see me cook. And then Daddy came back to work on the drawers for the kids' clothes that he needed all day to put together, and him and Sammy had the cutest conversation, as Sammy could see and watch him.

I actually failed to tell you some exciting milestones the past two days. Two days ago I discovered that Sammy's first tooth has broken through, which explains his fussiness the last few days. And yesterday, when I was alone with all three, Sammy was lying next to me, but sideways, with his head on my leg, and I actually watched him turn from his back to the belly! Wow! Finally! The head being higher is all he needed. Now he'll just have to figure out how to do in on a flat surface.

Barbara and I also fed them their second and last meal. Sammy finally did go to sleep in the afternoon, and the other two slept downstairs in the play area. That gave Barbara also the chance for a little break.

When it was bedtime, I took Sammy up first and put him to bed. Then I did the same with Emmy, who was pretty tired, and it worked really well. I was able to walk away, and he accepted it. Just like it was in the old apartment! I decided to keep Tammy downstairs a little longer and let her get really tired, plus to give the boys the chance to really fall asleep deeply. When I first went downstairs, Barbara told me Tammy was pretty tired, but suddenly she got her second wind and was extremely active, having fun with us. We stayed there for a while with her, before we took her upstairs. She was still crying and trying to stand up, but it didn't take her long to fall asleep.

Randy finished two identical sets of drawers, and decided he also wanted to do the third and narrower drawers. At 10:30 pm Emmy woke up, and as his pacifier always falls out of bed (or he throws it out), I couldn't get a new one into his mouth fast enough. His crying also woke up Tammy. It took me SO long to put them both back to sleep! I even had to give them milk to make it easier! The little noise Randy was making got their attention a few times. So I just sat with them for a while, before they finally did fall back asleep. I hope they won't wake up before 4 am tonight.
