HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
I was thankful not to have appointments in the morning and that I could sleep longer. I've been going to bed pretty late since the move. Once I was up, it was pretty stressful as time was short to feed them all, and then the two of us. We left later than planned, but arrived on time.
After a 3-week break Sammy had a physiotherapy session again. And then we found out that she was also doing their 9-month-old evaluation that was scheduled for tomorrow, so we don't have to come back again. I was thankful for that.
They do this evaluation for all preemies. In two days their biological age is 9 months. They check what they can do on their backs, their tummies, sitting up, and standing up. First she worked with Sammy for a while, and then she did the evaluation. Since she knows them all pretty well, it really did not take much time. I uploaded a video of the main test she did with Tammy and Emmy. She put a bell on a bench and called Tammy over, who came. She got up, and then she moved the bell away and Tammy took a few steps to get it. That's the one point more that she had than Emmy, who cannot do that yet. Both of them scored above average, really high, especially Tammy. As for Sammy it's no surprise that his score was low. She showed us today in what position he'll probably be sitting, and how he would sit up, once he gets to that point.
After the hour was up, we left and Sammy fell asleep in the stroller, but not the others. We met up with a church friend who was coming home with us to help with the babies, while Randy went on to the old apartment to pack up the rest of our stuff and do some loads of laundry. It was a really cold day today, which challenged us as we only had summer clothes handy, while the warmer clothes were somewhere in all the unpacked stuff, but we made it work.
It now takes much longer from the hospital home, as we have 3 subways to take instead of 2. When we got home, we fed them their second meal, even though it was already late. Tammy and Emmy were really tired, but they were playing hard with Melanie. She was amazing with them! She did so great with them that I was actually able to stay away and get some much-needed work done! I was so thankful for that.
As it got later they got more fussy because of their tiredness. It hadn't been that long yet, but I prepared their last meal and we started feeding them. I fed Tammy and put her to bed first, even though she's usually last. Then I did the same with Emmy, and finally Sammy. Though Tammy was so tired, she did her usual dance. As long as I stayed there, she would stay down, but as soon as I'd leave, she'd get up and cry. I was so thankful when Melanie took my place of stroking her head, so I could change Emmy and get him ready. And that way, she amazingly fell asleep fast, and so did the boys, and so it was earlier than it's been in a long time that thhy were already asleep. What a blessing!
Melanie said her good-byes, and I got working again. In fact, I spent a lot of time getting all the shelves together on the IKEA website that we still need, but in the end I could not complete the purchase. Right now we're missing all these shelves to be able to put stuff away. I don't know how we did it in the old place!
Randy came home late. It's always challenging to talk, as the babies have light sleep. It was Sammy who woke up early, and we had to feed him. I dream-fed Emmy after midnight. Sammy woke up again at 2:45 am, and I fed him again, as I was still up. But reduced amounts! In fact he wasn't happy and was still moaning for a while before falling back asleep. Now it's nearly 4 am and I'd better go to bed.
