HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
I was extremely tired last night, and it was tough feeding Emmy twice during the night and the others once. At least it was easier to put Tammy back to sleep. It was after 3 am before I got to lie down, all exhausted.
And then I had to get up 2 hours earlier than usual this morning. It was raining a little as we were walking the one kilometer to the swimming pool. We still need to get a double rain cover for the stroller, as the single one does not cover them both.
Today I had Emmy, Randy Sammy, and my Mom Tammy. It was the first time that Tammy was laughing during the swim class! Emmy had fun as always. Sammy did well as well. They're actually teaching them to swim!
The boys slept in the strollers on the way home. It was late for their lunch, so I quickly warmed it up and we started feeding them. Both Randy and I were pretty tired, and lay down several times with different babies. At one point everyone was asleep but us. I'd lie down and rock them to sleep, and after a few minutes I would get up to get work done. Maybe I should have just slept! The advantage of our bed being a mattress on the floor right now is that they can't fall off the bed.
I just uploaded the most hilarious video of Randy "rocking Tammy to sleep". Randy is sleeping, while Tammy is climbing around on him.
By the time it was bedtime for them, I was so very tired, I just could not cope with another few hours of Emmy and Tammy crying before falling asleep. Tammy, for the second day in a row, would just cry when I tried to feed her. Randy pointed out that it has been 5 days since they had their measles/rubella/mumps shot, and the doctor said they could have a fever in 5 to 10 days. I don't know; it was already the third day she's given us such a hard time at night.
Randy took Tammy, and Emmy was crying in his bed. I was too tired to pick him up and rock him. Instead I kept going to his bed and stroking him, and singing to him, and then walk away. He'd calm down while I was there with him, and scream when I'd walk away. But at some point he stopped and fell asleep. I guess if I keep doing this, he'll eventually just fall asleep. It amazes me that Sammy just continues sleeping in the little bed right next to him. What a blessing that he just falls asleep every night without any issues!
Randy tried again to feed her and give her milk. As it cooled down last night and was not hot today, it was not the heat the past few days that bothered them. She continued crying, even being held, but finally did fall asleep, and Daddy and daughter got to take a nap together. After a while I was able to transfer her from his chest to her bed. Relief!
Tomorrow is the first time in days that I don't have to get up early. I hope I'll be able to get some more sleep, and won't have to help too much in the morning.
