I haven't been talking about nights recently. Nothing has changed; Emmy is eating twice, Sammy once, and Tammy sleeps through. At least most days it's like that.

Once again Randy left after lunch to go to the apartment to work. I was on the phone with the electrician, who was gonna come look at everything in the afternoon, and he did. It feels good to have someone competent advise you and then do it. Next week is gonna be tough, really busy.

All three babies were tired after lunch. I put Sammy in his night bed, where he soon fell asleep. Tammy and Emmy were crying, and Emmy always wants to be picked up. I first took one to bed with me, and then added the other one. Of course there was no sleeping! Together they went to explore, and I had to hold their feet so they wouldn't go off. It did not take long before I put them back in their own bed.

Sammy woke up in time for the second meal, and while I fed him, Emmy was still crying. Then I fed Tammy, and Emmy was still crying. Then I fed Emmy, and Tammy was crying. They were so tired! I lay down with Emmy, and he soon fell asleep. Thankfully Tammy fell asleep on her own in their big bed.

While those two were finally sleeping, it now was Sammy who was fussing.I was able to sleep out from under Emmy and get up and try to make Sammy happy, who was the only one awake. I put him in the swing, which did the trick for a while.

Emmy woke up, and he lets you know when he's awake. He wanted me to hold him, of course, but I put him in bed with Sammy and sleeping Tammy, and he kept crying. It did not take long before Tammy was awake as well. Thankfully, after a while, Tammy finally got Emmy's attention, and he stopped crying and instead they started playing together.

Before long it was dinner time, and I started with Sammy, then fed Tammy, and then Emmy. I put them all back in their day bed with their pj's to play a little longer, figuring that they were far from sleepy at that time. It did not take long for Sammy to let me know that it was his bed time and that he wanted to go to bed, so he did. After a while I could tell that Emmy was getting really sleepy, and so he went to bed as well, and fell asleep with no fussing and crying.

As we know it's a different story with Tammy. As soon as it's bed time she starts crying. I lay her down, stroke her head, walk away, and she cries, sits up, stands up, pleading with me to pick her up. I come back, put her down, pat her head, walk away, and she cries, sits up, stands up, pleads with me to pick her up. And that gets repeated over and over. I did not pick her up tonight. At some point she finally got tired enough to stay down and fall asleep.

Now you wonder how I remember all those details, right? For the simple reason that I take notes during the day. All my daily updates and pictures go into a book for the kids after all!
