HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Last night Emmy needed milk twice, and Sammy once.
This morning, on Randy's shift, he looked up and saw Emmy standing on the side of the bed. He did it! 11 days ago he stood up for the first time, and hasn't been interested or standing since. All day long today he tried to stand up, and got frustrated not succeeding, and I never actually got to see him stand. It won't take him long. I noticed that he's been sitting up a lot, holding on to the bars of the bed. Tammy went straight to sitting up by herself. Interesting that Emmy is using the bars first; I'm sure it won't be long before he can sit up by himself as well. And today I noticed how visible his tooth now is that first came out about 3 weeks ago. He's the only one so far who has a tooth.
After we had all eaten today, we said good-bye to Randy who went to our apartment all by himself today to finish putting our wardrobe back together. That left me all alone with the little ones, but I thought I could handle it. And praise God, it all went great! Of course I was pretty busy, but I even got some work done in between. I ended up feeding 8 meals today - I was on my own for the second and third meal - and changing who knows how many diapers. I tried to rock Emmy and Tammy to sleep at one point, but couldn't stay long enough as another baby needed my attention. I couldn't respond to Emmy being cranky because he was so tired and wanting to be picked up, and he eventually fell asleep all by himself both times. Tammy fell asleep the first time, but never got a second nap. She was so tired, but she continued on, and I'm sure that helped in her going to sleep fast tonight.
Sammy was also cranky quite a few times today; one time I put him in the swing and he was happy there for a while. Tammy also got to spend time in the swing, and got a free massage with the vibration being on. In fact, she's sitting in there like she's saying, "I'm ready, let's go! Turn on the 360 degree lop mode!".
I had originally asked Randy to be back home by 5 pm for the last meal, but things were going so well, I told him to stay as long as he wanted. By the time he got home, all three were asleep for the night. And he had finished putting together and setting up the wardrobe.
I put Sammy to bed first, and then Emmy who now goes to sleep pretty fast. Tammy was really tired and crying, so I put her to sleep last, knowing I'd had to stay with her for a while and stroke her head. It wasn't too long before she fell asleep. And so Randy found me sitting at the computer working and looking like the day had been a breeze when he got home! I'm definitely thankful it went so well, thinking back of how bad it's been before when I found myself alone with tired, crying babies at night. It's definitely been helpful that we don't have to take them out anymore and rock them to fall asleep. Tonight is the fifth day of all of them falling asleep in bed. Thank you, Jesus!
