HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
10 months 12 days - It's so late, it's been such a long day, and I'm so tired, but here we go:
Last night Emmy and Tammy switched places, i.e. Emmy slept through, and Tammy didn't. Unfortunately it takes a while before she falls back asleep and I can go back to bed.
This morning we found Emmy sitting in bed, but he was holding on to the bars. It won't be long before he can sit all by himself. Also, I told you about his disinterest in standing up again, but when I put him upright, he loves it! Surely he'll get motivated soon!
We tried to leave the house as soon as possible after lunch, as it was time to go to IKEA and finalize and purchase our kitchen. We've looked at other avenues, but in the end, a month later, we had come full circle, back to IKEA. It's a long trip from our house (2 subways and a bus), and we got there about 2:30 pm. Little did we know that we'd be there for 4 long hours!!!
We went to the place where you sit down with the kitchen planners, and were told that the wait time was 2 hours. We could only see one employee there. I told her that we could not wait that long with the littles ones. As we stood there, discussing where to go inside the building, she suddenly called us over. She had called another employee to sit down with us, and so we did not have to wait at all! What a gift from God, as I cannot imagine how else this would have worked, as it was 4 hours as it was!
Last week a professional had come from the store and had electronically measured our kitchen are. Today they put those measurements into the computer and adjusted the kitchen we had already planned. We also made a few changes. This kitchen is a few thousand euros/dollars cheaper than all the others, and I like it, so it's a good decision. The only thing is that we'll have to call an electrician to take care of some things before they install it. After it was all locked in, it still took him forever to finish the order, and he sent us away for 20 minutes while he'd finish it all. We took the time to find the bathroom and changing room and changed all their diapers.
When we returned, he needed some more time to finish it all. A month ago they had told us it would be 4 to 6 weeks until installation (at lot faster than anyone else), so I was totally amazed when he told us three weeks from now!!! Wow! That's a lot earlier than expected, and still this month!
As for the babies, they were a handfull as you can imagine. Sammy ended up sleeping on the desk, and I had to rock both Emmy and Tammy to sleep in my arms at different times, and then put them into the stroller. Once awake, they were very active, trying to grab everything in sight, and trying to get out of our arms. By the end of our time there they had had enough big time. I was glad when we finally got to go. We still had to pay and pick up an item. Randy was hungry and thirsty, we were all tired, and it was nearly 7 pm before we left to start the long trip home.
Back home, we tried to put Sammy straight to bed, as he had had a lot of milk, but after feeding the other two, he was still awake and complaining, so we fed him too. The boys went to sleep right away, but Tammy was a handful again. I had to stroke her head for a long time, and keep coming back to do it, before she was finally asleep. Unfortunately the bed is so low, that it's not a very comfortable position to stroke her for a long time.
So we ended up eating pretty late, and Randy had a nap first. And that's why I'm writing this at nearly 2 am, as I just couldn't get it done earlier, and now I still have to choose their food for tomorrow. We all need a day at home really, but it won't be tomorrow! (The day after.)
