HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Last night only Sammy ate after midnight, so that's progress. And tonight no one needed rocking to sleep, for the second day in a row, so that's progress too.
I ended up being pretty busy this morning, at the time I'm supposed to be sleeping. Somehow I found myself in bed with all three of them! You can image how busy they kept me, trying to kept them from crawling where they shouldn't, and from being too rough with Sammy. They were all tired, and in the end they all got to sleep in different places, including my arms.
After everyone had been fed, we packed up again, the second day in a row, to go to our new apartment. There's still much that can be done there, and also, the locksmith was coming today to fix a lock.
It was another really hot day, so they only wore their bodies from the beginning. We take two subways to get there, and the old subway trains don't have air conditioning, so it's pretty hot in there. Today I sat up Emmy in the stroller, and he really enjoyed it. He could see more, and he held on to the bottom of Tammy's seat and tried to catch her foot, which he didn't. Sammy likes having his feet up, and playing with his feet keeps him from crying.
Tammy is really funny to watch. She has the iron stare and looks at all the people around her. When people react to her, she smiles at them, and she also laughed. But if they don't, she'll keep staring at them, waiting for them to react. One time today we were in the subway elevator, and she stared at the guy right next to her the whole time, never taking her eyes off of him, but he never reacted to her. He must have been really uncomfortable. It was so funny.
We ended up being at the apartment for about 3 hours, which seemed really long. Randy was working on putting our wardrobe together in our bedroom, but suddenly there was a loud crash as it fell apart. I was with the babies in their play area and they all started crying and I had to comfort him. Thankfully Randy said he can fix the damage, but all his work today was in vain.
I/we fed the babies not long after our arrival and finally took their clothes off as it was so hot. They were really tired and cranky, but so tired that it did not take me long to put them to sleep. I just did one after another, lying next to them and stroking their heads. And so for a short time all three of them were sleeping.
They pretty much woke up around the same time, and kept me busy the rest of the time. We read books and had fun, but I tell, it can be quite challenging handling three at once!
A week ago today Emmy stood up at the pediatrician's waiting room all by himself, and I got to film it. I've been meaning to tell you, though, that he has shown no ambition to stand up again. It's like his motto is, been there, done that! Tammy was the total opposite; she kept going and going relentlessly until she mastered it and would stand up all the time. Emmy is also not sitting up yet.
The locksmith came an hour later than announced, so we left rather late. None of them slept in the stroller on the way home, though they were tired. Once home it was dinner and bedtime! Sammy goes to bed first, and he's fine pretty much right away, unless he loses his pacifier. Tonight Tammy was next. I put her in her sleeping position and had to stroke her head until she was asleep. When I stopped before that, she'd start crying and getting up. After she was asleep, I put Emmy to bed. Normally he is second. He was so tired, he didn't even cry. I'm thankful and determined to keep going, not picking them up or rocking them at night!
At 10 pm I suddenly realized that it was Monday and I hadn't bathed or weighed them. It was so late I just wanted to get them to bed quickly.
And, today they are exactly 8 months old, according to their biological age.
