HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
At first this morning was like any other. They got up some time after 7 am, and I got up just before 9 am to make their cereal with milk, and we then fed them. Then it was time for their morning nap. I've been holding Tammy, having her sleep on my chest recently. She was on her way to falling asleep, but Emmy was crying really hard. I finally got up, hoping she was so close to sleeping, she would simply sleep in her bed, like she did the last two times, and I could take Emmy to bed with me. Unfortunately it didn't work today. I went back and forth twice, at a loss as to what to do. Unfortunately I can't rock them both to sleep at the same time, they would just play. I finally lay down with Emmy who fell asleep right away, but Tammy ended up not sleeping at all. After Randy had finished his breakfast, he took her downstairs with him.
Emmy woke up when the door bell rang just before 10:30 am. It was our old friend, Caritas-helper Christine, as well as the Caritas press secretary and a reporter for a Vienna district magazine. Sammy also woke up at that time. Christine picked him up, and changed him right away, but then he needed Mommy, and so we switched and I carried Sammy down, and Christine Emmy.
We then sat with the three on the floor where they were playing, and the reporter took a few pictures. She also asked us some questions. The article is all about the Caritas family help, as they want to make it more known. They really didn't stay long before saying their good-byes.
Christine, even though on vacation, still stayed for a while to have fun with the babies. I told her about our experience with the cart the other day, and then we ended up outside with it. And Randy brought another one out that we have that I didn't even know about. I think it's even better, as one can sit on it, and the other can hold the handle behind the seat and push it. Tammy and Emmy LOVED it, and switched places a few times. They really did a great job. I still need to upload the videos. We also got the other cart out, and Randy pushed one, while Christine pushed the other. Even Sammy got to ride it! He decided to gnaw on the steering wheel while riding it.
Christine then helped us feed them their lunch meal at 11:30 am, and then continued playing with them, while I got our food ready, and while we were eating. Tammy was getting very tired as she had not slept in the morning, and so even before I ate, I took her upstairs to put her to bed. She was so tired she fell asleep in her own bed rather quickly.
Christine had to say her good-byes; it had been great to see her again, and I hope we'll see her again soon. It's not until 2021 that we could request her services again.
At 2 pm we fed them all, and as Tammy had just woken up, it was just the boys who needed to follow our regular schedule and get their nap. I lay down with Emmy, who soon fell asleep. Randy later told me that Sammy wasn't tired at first, so it was later that he put him down to sleep. When the Mobile Therapy Support lady arrived at 3:15 pm, he was still sleeping. Emmy had once again been woken up, this time by Randy talking to me, rather than the door bell.
Randy went to the hardware story, while I was downstairs with the lady and the babies. The lady shared her frustration right away, as her organization has just tightened the Corona rules. She had to wear plastic glasses in addition to the face mask and told us she was supposed to also wear gloves and an apron! Thankfully she did not want to put those on, so she just had the glasses and mask on. Of course us adults had to wear our face masks, which the babies pulled off my face numerous times until it broke for good.
Sammy always needs a little time to warm up to her, especially after sleeping, but then he did pretty good. The lady also noticed that he's turning and crawling more, and I again saw him turn over today. After 90 minutes the lady left, and I went into the kitchen to get their dinner ready, while Randy stayed with them. I took a picture of their food sitting on the dining room table - I feed Tammy and Emmy, and Randy Sammy. On the picture you can also see our cool new dining room light that Randy finished installing today. Do you like it as much as I do? Randy doesn't.
Tonight I added some cucumber and tomato to their dinner, but they didn't much like either one of them. Sammy ate pretty well the second day in a row, but Emmy doesn't eat much. Tammy eats everything. By the way, about 3 days ago we noticed that BOTH of her top middle teeth are coming out, so she already has 4 teeth now!
Emmy never wants to stay in the high chair for long, and once he is out, Tammy wants out to. That doesn't mean they are done eating. So I had to once again follow them around and put food into their mouths. I can't say I like them getting into the habit of eating while playing and walking and crawling. But how to keep them in their chairs? He won't eat there, but will after he is out.
Then it was bed time. They were all tired, so it did not take long for them to fall asleep. Thank God it's so easy now! When I think for how many months it was always so very hard!
As always, once they sleep, we get to cook, eat, and work. As we go swimming in the morning, I hope to make it to bed "early". Last night it was 2 am, which is a little later than I'd like.
