HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
It was a day like any other until 4 pm. Except that I did make it to bed at half past midnight - very early for me - though it takes me a while to actually fall asleep. I did have to get up to feed babies before my shift ended at 4 am. My alarm woke me at 8:50 and I got up to mix their cereal with milk and feed them. Then it was time for their morning nap. The boys went into their beds, and I lay down with Tamara, and we both slept. After she woke up, I took her down to Randy and her siblings who woke up around the same time, I believe. I had a few more minutes in bed before getting up to feed them their lunch meal, which happens around 11:30 am. After feeding them, I cooked Randy's and my meal. We both ate right next to their play area, where they can see us. And then Randy saw Sammy turn from his back to his belly all on his own, on a flat surface, which he has only done very few times so far. He had no toys in reach, so he made an effort and succeeded! Good job, Sammy!
Sfter eating, I simply started doing much-needed housework that I've been wanting/needing to do for a while. I also prepared their dinner and put it in children's bowls with lids to take with us. I'm always amazed at how long it takes me to cut up food for three babies into small pieces, though Tammy's and Emmy's pieces are bigger than Sammy's.
Time was going by fast, but I got some stuff done, though not office work. At 2 pm we fed them their cereal with fruit, and then it was time for the afternoon nap. They had already been so tired that Randy had had to keep them from sleeping. I lay down with Tammy, but though Emmy was tired, he was standing and crying. Tammy also needs a while before she finally puts her head on my chest, and she had already done so. I decided to try to put her into her bed and lie down with Emmy instead. I had already been feeling bad that it's always Tammy who gets to sleep on me. I put her into her bed and expected tears and protests, but she just needed a few strokes of her head and then stayed down and fell asleep. Wonderful! I took Emmy and lay down with him. Of course, he was so excited he didn't want to sleep either. I had to hold him tight, against his will, and then he finally fell asleep. I'm glad he got to sleep on me again, as it had been a while since last time.
Again, they all woke up about the same time an hour later. And it was half an hour before leaving, so time to get read. We put their church clothes on them, put them into the strollers, and got ready ourselves, and made the train we needed to catch (that only runs every half hour). That also meant we got to church before the service started, which we never did before we moved (since their birth).
We got them all out of their strollers, and as it was dinner time, we got the little bowls out and fed them. Tammy and Emmy ate everything, and Tammy also finished what Sammy didn't want. And then they enjoyed crawling around and walking while holding on to church. Emmy was off exploring the neighborhood, and then our friend Anna got a hold of him and enjoyed having him the rest of the service. She walked with him, with him holding his hands, and I did the same with Tammy. I let her lead where she wanted to go, and she walked around everywhere, smiling at people and making friends with everyone. She captured everyone's heart! It's amazing how much she actually walked around without getting tired.
As the end of the service was approaching, she was getting a little tired and cranky. So did the boys, but they all stayed awake. They are not babies any more!
When the service ended, we put them into the strollers and started our journey home. It was a little chilly. Though they were all tired, only Emmy fell asleep on the way home. At least I did not have to carry him sitting on the stroller handle! We were lucky the tram came quickly, and then the train came just 5 minutes later as well (though it only runs every 30 minutes). That way it didn't really take that long to get home.
Once home, Emmy woke up as well. I first changed Sammy and put him to bed, then Emmy, and then Tammy. They all got some more milk as well. It took a little time, but not too long, before they fell asleep. Then it was our time to cook and eat and get to work. It's after midnight, but I hope to make it to bed soon again.
