HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
I actually succeeded in going to bed earlier last night, already at half past midnight. I was exhausted, however, it took me until 2 am to fall asleep. And at 3:30 two babies needed milk and a new diaper. So in the end, I didn't really get to catch up on sleep and was tired all day long. At least I heard my alarm clock at 11:30 am today.
I got their food ready and we fed them. I also cooked for Randy and myself, and had to eat quickly so we could leave on time. We left just after 1 pm to make the long trip to the university hospital where they were born. It's a little arduous as we have to take 3 subways, and do all this walking from elevator to elevator. Amazingly we got there on time.
Sammy did really well in his physiotherapy session today. She always sees improvement in him. Today she pointed out that his arms are now stretched through when he puts his weight on them on his belly. She also showed another way he could be crawling, using his arms instead of his legs. He could pull his whole body forward with his arms. She thinks he might choose to do it this way and worked with him most of the time to learn this technique. She also noted that it takes so very little now for him to turn from his back to his belly, but he is still not doing it on his own.
The other two were very active as always, crawling everywhere and putting every toy into their mouths. On the way out of the hospital, we ran into the head nurse from the other hospital (who now works at this one), where they had spent 6 weeks, and who knows them very well. She was so happy to see them, as we have not been able to visit there since Corona started.
All three slept on the way home. Recently Emmy does not ever want to go into the stroller, and I thought I'd put him on top, maybe he would like it more, and Tammy had to be on the bottom (which she didn't like), but then they slept on the way home anyway. Sammy was the only one to wake up before we got home.
Back home we still had about an hour until their dinner time. I sat down with them in their play are. It was Tammy who was hungry and really tired, and so I got up to make their food a little earlier and Randy took my place with them.
When I carried the three cups of cereal with milk to the dining room table, I dropped one. Great! At least they have not been eating that much, so we didn't miss the spilled food, but it was everywhere.
At first they were both okay in their high chairs, but Tammy was so tired, she wanted out, so I held her to feed her a little more. And then Emmy wanted out too, but I cannot hold and feed two at the same time. Since Tammy did not want any more food, I got him out, and he didn't eat much more either. I put them once again into the dry bathtub, and once again they freaked out. It's time to go babyswimming again! I cleaned them up, changed their diapers, prayed for them and put them to bed. Randy did the same with Sammy, and I put him to bed as well.
Tammy was so tired, I thought she'd be sleeping fast, but Emmy wasn't and kept her up. I ended up being there for over an hour, trying to put them to sleep. Tonight it was Sammy who fell asleep fast.
Once they were finally asleep, I could make and eat dinner, and finally get started on much-needed office work. Randy started working on one of the baby gates for the stairs, and it turns out to be quite a job. All three babies woke up when he drilled the first hole (though it wasn't loud), and so they all got some milk, and it didn't take them long to fall back asleep. Hopefully I get to go to bed earlier again tonight, and actually catch up on sleep.
