HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Another night with lots of feedings, and tonight started the same way. And in the morning I helped again, though it's a blurr now. I ended up getting up 90 minutes earlier than usual, as I heard a baby crying, and came to help. A little later I went back upstairs to get their food ready.
When I came back down to start feeding them, Tammy was asleep together with her Daddy, who woke up when I came, and because he also had Sammy who was not asleep.
Again, we did not use the high chairs that they don't like to get into. I fed Emmy downstairs while his sister was sleeping, and then fed Tammy, and Randy Sammy. He had a hard time with Sammy, who ended up really dirty. This picture is priceless, and I need to come up with a funny caption for it!
I had just started eating lunch and Randy's was still in the oven, when our friend Sonja arrived. A God-sent! I had a long list of things I wanted to accomplish while she was here. Well, things didn't quite work out that way, and I could only tick off a few items off the list.
I get these emails about babies at their age, and yesterday I got one summarizing where they are at at 10 months old, which is what they are biologically, and it was really helpful! It talked about the separation anxiety they are going through right now, when you can't even leave them for seconds. And also that they could go through things like what Emmy is doing with his fits. It was a comforting article.
The little ones had a tough time for most of the afternoon, doing lots of crying. I had to hold Sammy for much of the time, which restriced me in what I could do, having only one hand available to work. And with the others crying, I spent some time with them as well to help poor Sonja who had 3 crying babies at times. The other two meal times didn't go very well either.
Before dinner, they were getting really tired and cranky, and so we went outside, in front of our downstairs level, for a little bit, which was nice as it was a warm, sunny day. We set them on this green cover of a sand pit, where they crawled around a little. Distraction is always helpful.
They were also outside their play area in the apartment for quite a bit, as they are happier there, able to explore everything. One time, they were with Sonja by the couch while I was upstairs, and as I come back down, there is Emmy coming up the stairs! I didn't expect him to cross the whole downstairs level in the short time I was gone. I guess the gate needs to always be closed when they are out (which it usually is).
After they had eaten their small quantities of food at dinner (I only make 2 portions any more), we went through our bed time routine, and probably set the record for the quickest they've ever fallen asleep. What a blessing! But they also set the record for needing milk the earliest, wenn Emmy started crying at 8 pm, 3 hours after going to bed. Sammy followed at 9, and Tammy at 10:30.
In any case, I was able to get some more work done after they had gone to bed. The last two days I had been overwhelmed with everything I needed to get done, which is on my mind when I go to bed, and it takes me a long time to fall asleep anyway. Today I was much more confident with everything. I did have chest pains all day today; hopefully they'll be gone tomorrow.
