HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Last night I had a message from our friend, Caritas helper Christine, that a client canceled this morning and that she could come to our house to help at 9 am. I immediately said YES! Even though I was exhausted and planning to go to bed earlier last night, it was 4 am once again (at least not 5). And I had not even finished with all the birthday pictures!
This morning Randy woke me up at 10, as he was sealing the kitchen backsplash with silicone and wanted to ask me something about the position of the little shelves. I wasn't happy, but fell right back asleep.
I had set my alarm for 12 o'clock as we needed to leave the house at 1 pm. At 12:45 Randy came into the bedroom and woke me up. I was sleeping so well that I never heard my alarm! Now I had 15 minutes to get ready! I was so tired I could barely open my eyes, and stayed tired the rest of the day. As I was grabbing everything we needed, I forgot to take the babies' insurance cards, so we had to leave a deposit there.
Without having eaten, we rushed out the door with Christine, who was heading the same direction at first. At least that allowed me to catch up with her a little. She had put together the push cart they received for their birthday yesterday, and Tammy took some steps with it. Tammy actually never slept this morning, and Emmy early, so they both slept in the stroller, only Sammy stayed awake.
It now takes us a lot longer to the get to the pediatrician's in our old neighborhood, especially as long as the subway is not running all the way (just one more week), but we got there on time. My Mom met us there to help.
We went into the waiting room, where I took a picture of the three wearing the new T-shirts they had been given yesterday. Tammy and Emmy did not want to sit, but needed to roam around free.
We did not have to wait long. Once inside, we had to take all their clothes off and they were measured and weighed. Again, they did not want to be held but move around, while we waited for the doctor who would give them their shot. They all cried but not for long, as we gave them a bottle. It was time for their middle meal, which the milk replaced today. We dressed them all again, made the appointment for next time, and left. Time to start our long trip home!
We had a tram and then a subway to take. Recently Emmy does not like being in the stroller. He got so upset in the subway that I had to take him out, and then he was the happiest boy in the world. I then sat him on the stroller handle and carried him home.
Back home, I finally got to eat something, and had to do it fast, while also making their dinner meal. Randy fed Sammy, while I was feeding the other two. At first they were in their high chairs, but Tammy was so tired I had to take her out to get a few spoonfuls of food into her, and Emmy did not want to stay in there either. He always leans back so far you think he'd fall out. Randy came to help as I could not hold them both AND feed them. Tammy was done eating anyway; she never eats much at night when she is tired. Emmy ate a little more. I cleaned them up, changed their diapers, and put them in bed. Sammy as well. Tammy fell asleep right away. Emmy did not take long either. And Sammy took a little longer, but it was not bad at all, considering how hard the last few nights have been with him. I was sitting in the chair next to their beds and was about to fall asleep myself..
Once they all slept, I finally made myself get up and get to work. I did today's pictures, and wrote this update early, as I fully intend to go to bed earlier tonight. I just have to catch up on my sleep deficit! Unfortunately we have to go somewhere again tomorrow.
And though it's late by now, Randy is still not home; he went to our old apartment, to pick up the last of our stuff and bring my bike over here. Next Monday we're finally gonna return the apartment.
